I purchased a Sony projection TV 2002. At this time I noticed there were circular lite and dark blue lines in the background. At this time we got the new FIOS PACKAGE and after the completion, turn on the TV and about five minutes you will see a flashing blue screen in the background, which resulted in the TV shutting off. The timer/standby lite is flashing.
Disconnect all the cables from the TV including the power cord then reconnect them after a few minutes. Make sure that the power cord from the TV is directly connected to a functional wall outlet.
Also try connecting different video sources to the TV such as DVD player, playstation, etc. to check if the Blue color is visible regardless of the video source connected to the TV.
Furthermore, reset the TV to the original factory settings. Refer to the user manual for the TV to get to know the exact steps to reset the TV to the factory default settings.
if the issue persists even after performing all the above steps then the problem is with the optical block (light engine) of the TV. You may visit the Sony model specific web site to check if Sony is offering any special service program for the TV model for optical block issues.
