No Sound

It sounds like you are missing the audio driver. Go to the Gateway website and find the Support link. There you should be able to find audio drivers to download and install. Contact their Tech Support if you need assistance on the install.

Also be sure you are plugging the speakers into the correct jack. There may be three ports, where typically the green port is for audio.

Try the above link for Vista or XP drivers which may be used with Windows 7 in some cases.

The va1912wb came up when I searched under 1912.

This driver is available directly from the site.

Uninstall the other driver if possible.

Go into control panel / sounds / sounds and audio / select audio blind / should see a driver listed in each device. Back to sounds blind /test sound, if you can see the black arrow but its greyed out then driver is faulty. If you can click on it and it changes baxk to th esquare all is OK, ensure the sound jack is plugged into the GREEN ones at rear PC. Also check in volume blind that speakers are selected.

Lost sound from LIkom HD17a LCD monitor

It was stupid, the volume on the monitor had been turned all the way down. I checked to make sure it wasn't muted but never checked the volume level. Thanks anyway.

Reinstall of windows xp

This won't have anything to do with the monitor in the control panel, you should be looking at "Sounds and Audio Devices". Did the sound ever work?

No Sound on Envision H22W Monitor

The Envision H22W has speaker grilles, but does not include speakers. Note there is no input connector for audio.

The Envision G22LWK does have built in speakers. I think they just used the same mount/frame for both models, but only the G model actually includes the speakers.

Note that the web specs and the manual for the H22W says nothing about speakers.

No doubt this is why the H22W costs appreciably less than the G model.
