My iphone is stuck on startup screen with the apple in the middle of the screen, been like that for 6 hours.... tried resetting it doesnt work just does the same thing

Do a hard reset.

1. Press-hold the Home button (big circle below the screen) and the Sleep/Wake button (on top of the iPhone) simultaneously.
2. Continue holding both buttons (Ignore the "Slide to power off") until the iPhone shuts off and begins to restart.
3. You may let go when you see the silver Apple logo.
4. You have completed a hard reset successfully.
5. Don't be alarmed that it takes quite a while to load from the Apple logo to the main screen. This is normal.

If this does not work, put into recovery mode and restore from itunes.
Step One
Open iTunes and connect the iPhone to your Mac.


Step Two
Press and hold the Home button and the Sleep/Wake button at the same time.


Step Three
As soon as the screen goes black release the Sleep/Wake button. Continue holding the home button until you iTunes pops up a message telling you that it has detected an iPhone in recovery mode.

try double tapping the screen with your finger. if that doesnt work....pinch the screen with you index and middle fingers outward towards the middle.

Turn iphone off. Power on holding power and home at same time for 10 seconds, then release power button but hold home for another 30 seconds. Screen will stay blank but should be in DFU recovery mode. Plug into iTunes and recover.

reset your entire phone if that doesnt work try a new sim card

omg this happend to me too!!! UPDATE ME IF YOU FIND AN ANSWER!

1. Reset iPhone settings. From the Home screen choose Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings. All your preferences are reset, but no data or media is deleted.
2. If that doesn't work, reset iPhone. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears restore the iPhone software.

Looks like your iPhone won't boot, It happens sometimes if your phone is jailbroken and you have installed another non-standard language interface, i install Hebrew on my phones, If i then erase all settings it will fail to boot, like yours...
I suggest you restore the phone and re-jailbreak
since you have erased all settings i presume you have no personal data on it, if you do have contacts/calendar/SMS items, try to backup via iTunes before you restore, even when only the apple is showing, sometimes you can connect to the phone via iTunes/WinSCP
