D3D malfunction My ATI Radeon 9250 card has the latest drivers installed and i'm also using the latest directx version for XP but for some reason the D3D function is not working right. sometimes it is enable while sometimes it is not. also my computer seems to hang whenever there is a heavy load on graphics. is this a hardware problem or can this be resolved by software?

ATI does not like drivers installed over top of it's self. Weird I know. So uninstall through your control panel. If the uninstall fails download and run.:
http://searchna.ati.com/promosearch/?site=us-en&la=en&qt=cat-uninstaller&selectsite=ATI&sp_a=sp10039240&sp_p=all&sp-x-1=col&sp_f=ISO-8859-1&sp_q=cat-uninstaller&Search.x=9&Search.y=8
After a reboot install the new driver & Catalyst control center.

ATI Radeon 9250 PCI scrolling perfomance problems.

It sounds like the wrong drivers or old drivers are installed, try the following drivers:

Seems like your graphic card is not supported. Its a older version. My first solution would be update your driver for your graphics card: http://driver.wareseeker.com/download/visiontek-radeon-9250-agp-8.072.rar/1e97d07a01 or http://www.soft32.com/Download/Free/VISIONTEK_RADEON_9250_AGP/4-172246-1.html

If that doesn't fix it (which I don't think it will), you might just have to buy yourself a better graphics card and/or computer.

I need a solution for my ATI 9250 video card

That card is getting a bit out of date but should be able to handle lighter games like World of Warcraft. I will post a link to the latest drivers for you but if they don't work it's likely you will need to replace the card with a newer more powerful one.

http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx

Click the link, then fill in the boxes with your windows version, Radeon, 9250/9000 series. It will take you to the download page for the newest drivers.

Hope this helps FixYa,

Chris

Computer restarts on game start

Remove all traces of ATI drivers from add/remove programs and reboot before trying to install the newest Catalyst Control Center. The latest - 9.4 - does NOT have your card listed (they list the PCIe version, not AGP).

Recently ATI removed support for many of their "legacy" cards. 9.3 may be of more use to you.
