Hi,
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

My ibm thinkpad will not start up, even in safe mode. unmountable boot volume keeps coming up

Hi there.

Remove all usb flash drives or external hard drives connected to the laptop.
If no flash drives or external hard drives are present the you will need to reboot your system and press the delete key repeatedly until you get into the BIOS. Once in the BIOS you will need to locate boot disk priority. Set priority 1 to the laptop's main drive and priority 2 to the CD/DVD drive.
Now it should first try boot on your hard drive with your operating system on it. If after this you still get the unmountable boot volume error then your hard drive may be corrupt.

if the screen is dim and the images still display it means that the it's probably the CCFL tube or the inverter (located in lcd panel) it will need to be replaced.

Restore default settings for ibm thinkpad r50

Hi, During the boot at the THINKPAD SCREEN press the Thinkvantage key ( Blue button ) it will launch rescue and recovery and allow you to reboot factory. This only works if you did not corrupted/deleted the rescue and recovery hidden partition on the HDD. Otherwise you will need the rescue and recovery CD to proceed. IBM/Lenovo support should be able to provide you the CD. thanks and have a nice day J-

CREATE A BACK OF DATA INIT
BETTER THEN RESTORING U CAN RESTORE UR SYSTEM TO A PERIOD WHEN UR THINKPAD WAS RUNNING SUCCESSFULLY AND THIS DOESNT DELETE ANY DATA ON UR HARD DISK
START PROGRAMMES ACCESSORIES
SYSTEM TOOLS SYSTEM RESTORE
THIS WILL SURELY HELP U

Removing CMOS battery on ibm r50e is not solving the pass problem

Removing battery or resetting BIOS with jumper will not help. You should call IBM for support on this issue. All thinkpads have a three year warranty, with either return to base or on-site service. Since the R50e is a recent model, you should have no problem getting it serviced directly by IBM. Toll Free: 1-800-IBM-SERV (1-800-426-7378)
