I have 3 Brother HL-20040 laser printers but 2 of the 3 show the toner (yellow) light with good cartridges. Is this a common problem? Is the sensor bad? Do I junk it for another which I can purchase new for $75?
Could be a bad sensor., but if you put a small piece of electrical tape over the windows on each side of the toner cartridge, ti will think there's toner and the light should be out. When prints come out blank, it's time for more toner...

ABOUT HALF THE TIME, THE PRINTER DOESN'T GRAB PAPER TO PRINT, OR IT GRABS IT HALF-WAY. ONE THING IT MIGHT BE IS A LITTLE THING IN THE PAPER TRAY THAT HOLDS THE PAPER TIOGHT - PART OF IT BROKE OFF, SO THAT IT'S NOT SNUG IN THE TRAY. DO YOU SELL THAT LITTLE PLASTIC PART?? THANKS, R GEISLER

The alarm light is on, but I can't find anything wrong (cords, paper, etc.). The toner is Brother. I pressed the alarm button to reset it, and it printed once, but now it won't. I tried shutting the computer down too, but no luck.
