Hi there, It seams charger or battery is faulty. It is hard to say which of the 2 is faulty as alot of laptops will not run if the battery is not installed. I would advise you take it in for repairs so they can test your battery and charger.

I can't get my IBM ThinkPd out of sleep mode. (I'm using another computer right now.) I tried taking the battery out and unplugging it for 20 minutes, pressing power button, holding power button down,...

It sounds like a failed motherboard, If it was stuck in sleep mode the computer would still turn on.

try leaving the battery removed plug in the laptop and see if it turns on, if not it sounds like a bad component on the motherboard.

T23 IBM will not operate on battery power & won't charge battery.

The battery has likely been charged one too many times and will no longer hold a charge. Buy a new battery.

T23 Thinkpad could not power up

Your machine should run without the battery, just plug it into the power supply. You may check the powersupply itself. Maybe the power supply was bad and not the original battery. You can pickup one at a computer store. A universal costs around $100.00 to $120.00. The power supply is the (usually) the rectangle box that is part of the power cord. Let me know if that was it. Good Luck. Tim
