Malfunctioning Pioneer XC-IS21t

I have a Pioneer XC-IS21T and haven't used it for a few years. I went to use it yesterday and in does not work. Everything seems to be working properly, but there is no power to the speakers. This unit has a separate amp with a gauge that monitors the power. All the lights turn on, the cd spins, the tape deck operates, the speakers just don't speak. They don't even make a hiss. I know the speakers are ok because I hooked a battery to them and they made noise. The problem seems to be in the amp. When I turn the volume dial, the needle on the gauge doesn't move. The amp makes a clicking sound every time I hit a button on the main unit. It might be a problem with the power switching(?). I took it all apart and could find nothing. There was a small circuit board laying loose that may be the culprit. It only has 2 small contact points on it but doesn't seem to attach to anything. It is labeled "AWU7349" and "NE M PF2" and "BIND ASS'Y".
Sorry for the long description. Can anyone help?

Re: Malfunctioning Pioneer XC-IS21t

I'm not sure what that could be but probably the amp. section. I have a xc-is21t, that came out in year 2000, I use it almost everyday, and it works excellent. Unfortunately a friend of mine has dropped the whole unit on the floor, and guess what it's still works perfectly, only problem the sliding door for the cd(but only the see thru plastic part) is broken and I'm not sure where can I find this part. I wrote a letter to, so hopefully they can locate the part for me. The only problem with this model that it doesn't play mp3 but again this was only made in year 2000.

Do you have an indicator lamp blinking? If so, you have DC Offset(a damaged amplifier). If you are interested in having your Pioneer repaired, please visit my website at BTW, I was a Field Service Engineer, specializing in audio, for Pioneer for 6 years.

Hello Janis
You haven't given any brand name and model number for your device. How can I search for it without these? Please be clear with your problem post, by including these details. OK.

I have an RCA RS2625 system that worked fine for a couple of years until the sound finally went out for good. A local technician says it's the amplifier and wants $110 to fix it, almost as much as I paid...

no its not ,primarily because even if you repair it the cd laser has a few years of use already on it ,lasers have a certain amount of hours before they weaken save the frustration and shop new

The display on my old Pioneer stereo multi CD receiver fades

The problem is a bad solder connection probably on the display itself. These are not the easiest to open up. I would not suggest you attempt this if you haven't done these before. This is a simple fix for any shop that handles audio repair. Call around for a shop that works on Pioneer gear and request an estimate over the phone. Indicate that the dispaly has bad connections that need to be resoldered. You may find a shop that will repair this for short money. Where are you located? Perhaps I can suggest a shop.

Drive Belt on Pioneer PL120-II Turntable

clean the spindle with alcohol and put a single drop of thin oil at the bottom of it
the sticky stuff is the rubber corroding
if the belt is not too stretched , boil it in water with some vinegar for a couple of minutes , if its too bad then replace it

Very Low sound

Make sure none of the tape monitor switches are on as this is a typical symptom when one or more of the tape monitor switches are active.
