Question about Toshiba Consumer (TV/DVD/etc) Progressive Scan DVD/VCR Combo
My dvd player is stuck in progressive scan. I managed to get the dvd out and access the menu. Progressive scan option won't highlight, but does say it is in off mode. When I put a dvd in the player, it goes right back to progressive scan mode.Pressing stop for way more than ten seconds does not help.Any ideas?

SOURCE: progressive scan
I had the same problem once and the solution is to reboot the DVD player. to do this you need to unplug the unit for 3 or more minutes and then you will have to go through the setup process again but everything should work fine and interlaced (not progressive) should be the dvd format again.

Tips for a great answer:
Progressive Scan Video provides the highest resolution
pictures with less flicker and line structure
If you are using the COMPONENT/PROGRESSIVE
SCAN VIDEO OUT jacks, but are connecting the
DVD/VCR Receiver to a standard (analog) television,
set Progressive Scan to Off
If you are using the Component Video jacks for
connection to a TV or monitor that is compatible with a
progressive scan signal, set Progressive Scan to On.
To ON and OFF this function, Press "Setup" to display the setup screen.
Surf through, and hilight "Progressive scan" and press "Ok or Enter"
Here you can set this function ON or OFF. If you wnat to get it OFF, select OFF and press Enter.
