Dark Grey or Black oxidized metal on all surfaces after being put in a dishwasher. Cascade detergent. I have two Mukka Express units and they are both unusable.
For some reason the material used to construct these products is reactive with normal dishwasher detergent. Does this mean the aluminum oxidizes easily and possibly is shedding into the coffee under normal conditions?

Are these units supposed to be dishwasher safe? If you are washing the heating element and control switches, that is asking for trouble. You probably need to hand wash these and not get the base part wet. I personally would rather have a unit made out of stainless steel.
