I have a Vivitar 3615 camera and when I tried to turn it on a red light flashes and I have no function of the camera nothing works. I tried a new set of batteries and the same red light continues to flash any ideas on what could be wrong?

When I try to power on the camera there is a red light that flashes that blinks once and then doesn't turn back off. It will not stay on for any fuction and I have tried new batteries.
Suggest a new solution for this problem
