Communication error for stylus photo 2200 printer

When you go to print, make your adjustments at Printer Properties (it sits below the printer named above). Open the options there and select the print quality from there. Other than that, you should have additional adjustments in the printer itself.

i believe you have to manually change type of paper you are going to use in the set up//oz

- System Preferences
- Print & Fax
- Select Epson Stylus Photo 2200
- Open Print Queue
- In the top right corner of the Queue window click the Utility button
- Epson Printer Utility will open where you can check the levels and run cleanings and nozzle checks, etc.

Try a different USB cable if plugged that way, or if you have a USB hub, bypass hub an connect direct

I don't know if this will help as my printer is a different model (the epson stylus photo r280) but I have been battling the vertical line issue for weeks, ever since getting a new imac. I am printing altered photos from photoshop on epson ultra premium matte photo paper. After trying every conceivable setting, and spending an hour with less than helpful tech support from epson (where they insisted I needed to download new drivers) I just resolved it this morning at last by increasing the dpi setting on the print function to beyond what I would normally use(1440x 1440 rather than what I had been using at 720).

The prints came out great at last!

On my older computer with this same printer the prints came out fine at the lower setting. But for some reason it appears that the higher setting is now necessary to eliminate those dreaded lines.

try reinstalling the ink. if all fails call epson for replacement ink at 562 276 1300

yes you have to go to control panel and remove the drivers and install the drivrs again ok

This may sound idiotic, but print out a nozzle check pattern in your maintenance tab. Good chance you have a clogged printhead. Check out how to do a print head cleaning and what solutions and tools you'll need. Careful if you're using compatible inks or refilled cartridges, or long expired ink.

This one works great for me. Go GENTLY, best not to use Windex or any unauthorized solutions, as they may cause damage to plastic parts.

is your ink cartridge full and properly alligned, do you have the most recent drivers. best bet to uninstall and reinstall it.
