Kenwood kvt 617 dvd monitor problems

Hi I hope that you an help me out on this.On my Kenwood 617 that I just got professionaly installed is a problem with the pictures being split in half, and sometimes the screen is very distorted. All of this only happens when I put a dvd in or try to play a dvd or game in the Playstation 2. Please help me. Is there a way that I can properly adjust my screen myself without taking my vehicle back to the shop? Can this be fixed?

Re: Kenwood kvt 617 dvd monitor problems

Are the dvd and playstation plugged into the correct input. Check the manual thouroughly to see if you can find a solution.

Is the problem just in the playstation? They have a split screen setting for playing with 2 people, maybee the plit screen setting is faulty.

Putting kenwood kvt 617 dvd in rear of surburan how can i bypass parking brake so movies can play while driving

On bypasses you can either hook the parking brake wire straight to ground, if that does not work you can install a toggle switch between the parking brake wire and ground so you can mimic the parking brake on off.

Hideaway brain unit on my kenwood KVT-617 doesn't work

My KVT-617 display unit was stolen out of my dash, but they neglected to snag the items under the rear seat: the "brain" hideaway unit, the HD radio receiver, the 10 disc CD changer, the navigation unit, and the powered subwoofer.
Everything was replaced via the insurance except the sub because the new system was not compatible with the old components. Make me an offer on the items you want!

I can not watch the videos and movies in my Kenwood KVT 617 DVD

hi there
on the back of this unit is a green brake wire you need to buy a 3 pined toggle switch need to take a small but mid size length speaker wire and attach to 12v (red wire) going into back of kenwood unit add another speaker wire to the ground wire (black wire) of kenwood unit... now on the 3 pined toggle switch add the power speaker wire to the toggle switch add the ground speaker wire to the toggle switch once this is done add the green wire to the last toggle switch pin........put the kenwood unit back in turn the car and toggle switch on...........put in a DVD and if screen shows DVD all is done...... but if the screen does not show the DVD......just switch the green wire with the black wire on the toggle switch and now it should work
hope this helps

Contact the manufacture and tell them your kid was playing around with it and accidently locked it. They might make you send it in or/and charge you a fee. Good luck.
