CD not working

SmartSet CD Clock Radio CKD5811 less than a month old. Suddenly the CD does not work. Enter a CD and it displays "CD" and then "1" and then back to the displaying the time. The CD never moves. Is there something I have set wrong or have I wasted my money on a piece of junk? D
