Not a solution, but just today mine is doing the same thing. Left light is on but not charging. I thought maybe it was the batteries needed replacing, but putting the new ones in did not change a thing.
Do these cameras ever go defunct? Guess I will take mine to a camera shop tomorrow and see what they say.
And I just used it to take a picture the other day. Usually by pressing the left light it stars the charge.. but not today.

I have had the same problem with my software and Vista. It seems to be common as well. Try this:
go to "download.com" and search for "paint.net". That is the software I use and it works great.

SOURCE: My Kodak EasyShare DX4530 camera dock not charging batteries.

There was an issue with the 4000 series and the NiCd batteries I remember that had to do with the contacts in the camera.  The charging circuit is in the camera so you have to make sure that the battery contacts are clean, both on the battery and in the camera.

SOURCE: Kodak EasyShare Printer Dock Series 3

If the boundary between the blank half and the printed half is a sharp line, a wire to the print head may be broken or disconnected. If the boundary is irregular (wanders up and down an 1/8 inch or so), the problem is most likely a broken plastic lever on the end of the shaft that moves the print head. The plastic lever is keyed to the shaft by a flat on the shaft. The plastic has a tendency to split at the edge of the flat, resulting in the lever slipping on the shaft. This in turn results in one side of the print head not contacting the paper with sufficient pressure. The other end of the shaft has a thick plastic sector gear which is much less likely to break.

I fixed mine by making a clamp from a metal spacer (made from split tube about 1/8 inch long) and force fitting it over the part of the plastic lever that fits on the metal shaft (on the end towards the inside of the unit). There is just enough clearance to do this without hitting the print head frame.

To remove the plastic lever, first remove two screws from back of unit, then pull up on top of unit, unplug two ribbon cables from circuit board and remove top. Then unplug two remaining ribbon cables from circuit board, and three screws holding circuit board. Lift circuit board and fan/fan-holder as one piece. Finally, disengage tab on plastic retainer on end of metal shaft, rotate tab straight up and lift shaft up and to the side (may require a little wiggling). The plastic lever slides off the metal shaft.

SOURCE: Kodak EasyShare z812is Battery issue

Try using the Kodak CRV3 lithium battery, I will cost you, but the battery works. The z812is is to powerful for any rechargeable battery.

Only top half of the photo is printed on Easyshare printer dock series 3

This usually represents a communication issue...
It could be between the doc and the printer (try a new USB cable) or it could be in the printer dock itself - if so, you would want to call Kodak to get a repair if they still repair them or maybe they have an upgrade path.

Kodak easyshare printer dock 3 prints only the bottom half ?

maybe the settings are set to print a picture on paper that's twice as big as the paper you'r eusing? like, if the settings are set for 8x10 paper and you're using 4x5...
that's just my guess.

Paper Jam / Printer Dock Series 3

try this no promises
unplug the power cord for 5 sec
paper should feed out after resetting
DONT EVER PULL ON THE PAGE WITHOUT THE MACHINE EXITING IT FIRST. THE TABS ON THE END OF THE PAPER BREAKS OFF INSIDE THE PRINTER DOCK.
check the back of the dock for the photo to eject as well as the front.
check paper size with new one after it exits to make sure no extra pieces are stuck in printer. good luck
DONT PULL ON PAGE JAM (UNPLUG FIRST(RESETS THE PAGE OUT THE BACK/FRONT))
