Re: Monitor is black, the blue lcd at the switch does not...

I have the same problem. Took it apart for troubleshooting. Found that if I disconnect the ribbon cable between the display driver circuit board and the LCD panel, I can turn on power and it will stay on. I can turn it on and off with the power switch. With the LCD panel cable connected, Power turns on (power light blinks) then apparently a fault with the LCD panel causes the power supply to shutdown. At this point the power switch does nothing. Now the big question is "Can you purchase a LCD panel?" If so, it probably costs more than a new monitor. Hope this was helpful.

Gateway monitor 2100 won't turn screen on, blue lite is on as if monitor is. but screen is not on. can it be fuse or what ? is not v-card

It sounds like the lamp for your monitor is no longer receiving power. While you can attempt to fix this issue yourself I wouldn't recommend doing so as it doesn't mean it will work after you attempt it.
If the monitor is under warranty still then you should contact the manufacturer about a RMA. If the monitor isn't under warranty then you should purchase a new monitor.

Monitor won't go on blue power lite won't change to orange. don't know if its video card or monitor

This is easy to test - disconnect the monitor from the pc and start it alone. If it doesn't start and show the no source warning then it's the monitor, it has an internal fault. It will be cheaper to buy a new one than to try to fix it.

Try the monitor on another computer, to check-out the monitor.

Does the POWER lamp on the monitor stay on when the monitor goes black? If so, then the monitor probably is OK.

Try a different monitor, to trouble-shoot the video-card.

The monitor shows a black screen but the green

Yes, there is internal main AC fuse, which should be OK because you can see the indicator light, you need to open it up and check for caps with bulging tops first, post back what you see so we can guide you further, see example of failed monitors due to bad caps:

cprogs, Check your warranty with LG (Lucky Goldstar) and hope they don't say "You bought it, You own it, Toyota!!!" Check to see if they have a swapout program for black screen of death "premature monitor failures." This unit could have a "switch-mode-power-supply" that has detected a FAULT CONDITION with itself or the "cold-cathode-fluorescent-lamp" inverter circuit and is now in partial or full shutdown mode trying to save itself from a catastrophic, nonrecoverable failure. e.g. sparks, smoke, fire!! Yes, it can be fixed. But why don't you visit youtube FIRST and view video clips of "LCD monitor disassembly" and or "LCD monitor repair" to get a handle on exactly what is involved in the repair of your now USLESS HUNK of JUNK lcd monitor. Yes, it could have an "OPEN FUSE" inside on the SMPS board. Read more stuff in my fixya profile for other options you might consider. 12fixlouie

I see a black screen when I turn thw computer on

The first thing to do is to check the lead from the monitor to the computer is correctly plugged in at both ends.
If this is OK then perhaps you try another monitor, if an other monitor works OK then yours may be broken.
If another monitor does not work then you will need to check your computer hardware and software.

The power button is violet, the monitor won't work

robyn_e_fox, Here is what I would try to do first if my 12 to 15 month old LCD monitor started doing STRANGE things!! If possible try to substitute a KNOWN GOOD monitor in it's place to make certain that your PC is working properly. If PC is OK then you know or are pretty sure that your LCD could be having an internal problem that a technician will need to diagnose and repair. Before paying for ANY repair you should contact the monitor manufacturer and complain about the short life and PREMATURE FAILURE of this LCD. Check to see if they also have a swap-out program in place. And last but not least check with the store where you originally purchased the LCD on what you should do. Hope this helped. loiue12fix on fixya lmistyrel

If the monitor was dropped, most likely you damaged the internal components that provide the picture, whether LCD or CRT. Try connecting it to another computer. If this doesn't work, check the monitor's display settings or operating system display settings for contrast or brightness. NEVER open up the monitor, because there is a high voltage capacitor that stores voltage even when the monitor is off and could kill you if it discharges.
