My charmglow patio heater will not stay lit

my charmglow patio heater has been working great for all of last year... but this week end it went out and would not light...the tank was still half full
but I changed it anyway...the pilot light will lite but as soon as I let off the knob it will go out...the pilot light is burning a very yellow flame that it has not done before...tapped on the regulator and the heater worked for about 2 minutes....help...I love my heater....
