Vrcd400-sdu error code 13

My stereo shows an error 13 when I try to play my usb. Does anyone know what the problem might be. Hi, i got the same problem with an error 13 code when i insert  sd card in my vrcd400 sdu unit.  Worked fine for 3 months  but i recently removed card to edit play list and when i plugged card back in,  i get error 13 code. Tried other sd cards and get same error. Tried the reset button. No luck.  Anyone find a solution yet??

I would suggest calling or find online Crutchfield. They have been car stereo experts for many years. They sell harnesses for just about any car allowing you to plug in your stereo directly to the existing harness. I guarantee they will know!

I have a VRCD400-SDU displays and modes but no sound.

The radio's output amplifier has failed.
Most of the time this is due to a blown speaker.
Repair is not recommended - as it exceeds the replacement value of the radio.

I had the same problem and all I did was buy new wires the ones that came with the stereo itself burned up and seased to work. now I paid $6.00 for it at best buy. they look the same colored wires as the ones that came in it.

No sound...

Hi XX,

Let's try the easy ones first:
1. try to do a reset of the unit;
2. check that all the speaker wirings are:
2.1 connected properly following the wiring diagram;
2.2 not bare/exposed and touching any metal part/chassis;
3. verify that the MUTE is not enabled;
4. try all signal sources: AM/FM, CD, SD Card, USB, AUX;
5. verify that the SEL is set to SUB OFF;
6. replace the CR-2025 Lithium battery of the remote.

If your concern has not been corrected after completion of the above procedures, you may need to:
a. open the unit for a loose connection and/or other diagnosis;
b. ask assistance from the manufacturer's Technical Service at 1-800-445-1797;
c. return the unit for a replacement.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

BIT RATE will cause this. 128kbps is good... 192kbps OK... 256 or anything else will cause a crash. Play ONLY 128k mp3's and you won't have this problem
