Question about KitchenAid KESC300 Electric Kitchen Range

Burners Blew I was cooking a big dinner, with the oven going and three of the four burners. Heard a pop and saw some smoke, and went to see if something burnt over. Then, a minute later, another pop, and saw smoke coming from under the burner control panel in the front of the stove. Both of the left hand burners had blown out, and won't work. Almost like a fuse blew? The right hand burners and oven are working fine, tho... Any ideas?

I had a similar problem while mine was still under warranty. Seemed like every time I used the oven and stove top for a major dinner it would short out and I would get an error code: F1:E6. They replaced the board under the display area, but it happened again about 6 months later. Turned out that when they made the oven they didn't insert a chimney like vent system from the bottom left side of the oven to the vent holes that come out the upper left side of the stovetop. This caused the panel to overheat and stop the entire oven from working. They replaced the board again and installed the "chimney vent system" and I haven't had the problem occur again (it's been 3 years!).

I was cooking dinner. Was using Kenmore oven on Broil and heard a loud pop. Everything went dead. Is my oven dead? Can it be fixed and how much would it cost? Would it be better to buy a new oven?

they dont make em like they used to anymore.. be looking under the top for a burnt wire somewhere..if the burners still work its ok if they dont. check your fusebox.. see if a fuse blew..

Stove control panel not working

You do not have a fuse or overload button on a Maytag cook-top. If you heard a pop, it was the touch pad on your control board blowing out.

After a "pop" - the oven no longer works

You should have thrown the breaker before moving the oven. The element likely shorted and blew the breaker. make sure the breaker is off. replace the element and plug it back in and reset the breaker.

Bake or broil does not work

if an element itself had shorted it would not stop the other from working and you could inspect each element and see blistering as evidence.the pop you heard has to be in common with both elements but not the cook top[burners]so thats going to be the wiring in the back of range, or switching,[thermostat, clock timer or oven selector switch, depends on which model you have]you will have to pull range and remove back pannels.you will find an obivous burn't connection.too repair all new connections must be clean and tight,or will burn again.
