Sound is garbled. Slow to almost a stop. Hard

A program or few programs are using a lot of your computers resources. What I would recommend you do, is first back up your files from the computer if you have anything important there, into a external usb drive. Then use the recovery discs or windows installation cd/dvd to perform a fresh install of windows, that will get rid of the slowness.
