Sony ps2 parental control

• unplug the ps2, wait 72 hours or.. Power on the PS2
• Press the Reset button
• Inset an R-rated DVD and wait until the board comes up telling you that parental controll is on
• Hit the Select button
• At the enter password prompt, hit the Select button
• At the Delete password prompt, enter in your password
• Hit the X button

also if your parents never set one the defualt codes are 1111 and 7444.

when asked for parental code:

press 'select' button --> 7444 --> new code --> re-enter new code

this should start the movie

press select on your controller and then enter password 7444 this will delete current password and allow you to set a new one...

Enter the password 7444, it will delete the old code and let you watch the movie you want

If you want to code free parental control then here is the solution when you are asked to put the code press select, then insert "7444" and your code will be deleted and you will be asked to put new code so put a new code, if you wanna completely remove the code, so during the film press select and go to setup and then parental control and select to turn off the parental control

Why don't you just take it to Best Buy or where ever you got it from and then exchange it or you could return it and git your $ back!!!!!!!

This is the only way to turn "off" parental control lock on the custom setup screen.

1) turn off ps2 with no dvd in drive.
2) turn on ps2 and insert dvd in drive.
3) when it asks about parental password, choose 'yes'.
4) when prompted for password, press 'select'.
5) the prompt will change and say 'delete password'. enter '7444'.
6) enter a new password (0000 works).
7) registration complete, dvd will start playing.
8) once the movie starts, press 'select'.
9) click the 'stop' icon.
10) click the 'stop' icon again (the icon must be gray even when you have it highlighted).
11) navigate to 'custom setup' ('select', setup icon, custom setup icon)
12) move to parental control option, press right directional button, enter password (0000).
13) move down to 'level'.
14) move up to desired level (off is at the top).
15) click 'x'.
16) go back to 'select' menu options, and press 'play'.
17) while movie is playing, eject disk and remove dvd.
18) turn ps2 off using switch on the back, keep off for five seconds.
19) turn on ps2, put dvd back in.
20) happy dance. ;)

You may want to try "5432" when you have to enter the code (not to delete the code, but where it asks you to enter it when you insert a movie). My friend had the same problem, and that's the code we used (after an hour of entering random numbers) to get past the parental control lock.

Start the PS2 up and load the DVD. When it shows the Parental screen select YES. When the Password box pops up. Press the Select button on the controller. Type in 7444. Then your password is reset. It will ask you to enter another password. Do that twice. Allow the movie to start. When it gets going pause the movie, Press the Select button on your controller again. The DVD menu pops up. highlight SETUP. When that setup screen appears go to the 3rd icon from the left. Press X. Then highlight Parental Code. Set the parental lockout level to OFF.

Put in a DVD, and press select button to go to PS2 DVD menu.  highlight setup menu. Press X.  go to settings I think, and paretal control is there.  Use password 7444.   Usually everyone sets the password to 0000.  Then when you go into the parental settings, turn the level value to OFF
