Question about Garmin 60 GPS Receiver
I've had my Garmin GPS 60 unit for just one year. It worked in October 2007 but now, three months later, the Satellite page only says "Searching the Sky". It never even gets to the "Acquiring Satellites" state. The Satellite page does not show even one satellite signal.
If I put the GPS 60 right next to my brand new nuvi 360, the 360 sees at least six satellites, but the 60 cannot see any.
I have tried everything that I can think of - I have replaced the batteries, disabled the GPS antenna then enabled it again, disabled WAAS then enabled it again, reconfigured every system setting in the main menu, reinstalled the unit software, reinstalled the USB drivers, and used the WebUpdater to check for updates. Can anyone suggest something else before I send this thing back to Garmin?
The "New Location" fix above brought my GPS 60 back to full operation. I did reload the GPS software from Garmin but the recovery depended on well charged batteries and as above: turn the unit on
press MENU button
scroll to "New Location"
wait 10 minutes for the GPS to recover.
