- Kylerkoller87 I just replaced my color cartridge, had a "compatible with HP 57" and put in a HP cartridge. what a surprise...........not.....I guess some of the cheaper campatible with types are not really. So much for buying at lower cost. The pits I know. Buy a cheap printer pay through the nose for a costly ink cartridge.Solution #1

I just replaced my black ink cartridge on the same printer and I'm encountering the same problem: a message that states "the black cartridge is not compatible with this printer". Well, that's not true. It is compatible. As a matter of fact, I got my printer (with new cartridge installed) to print a page once. But, now its giving me problems again and I can't get it to work. Help!

- chris_ingers, I think you're right. I've tried everything I can with this replacement black cartridge to no avail. It is a refurbished cartridge, yes, but it is just a refilled original HP cartridge. I can't believe it won't work!Yes
