Hello
First thing you do is to see what hard disc installed in your laptop. You can check that by checking it in your bios system. To check in your bios system first turn off your computer then press delete while your laptop is booting up. Then you will see if there is a hard disk detected in your lap top if there is a detected hard drive this means you have a problem in your windows installed in your lap top.
There is also a reason why those message appear if the first boot of your laptop is the CD/DVD ROM. Check you CD/DVD ROM if there a CD inside this may the first on to read while the laptop booting up. Remove the cd inside your CD/DVD ROM. Then restart your laptop. Check your hard disk connector it may have some loose contact thats why your laptop did not recognize the hard disc.
Hope this can help keep on touch with fixya. Hope to hear some testimonial from you. . .
Hello
Just put the recovery DVD in DVD ROM drive and boot system from DVD ROM, by changing the boot options from BIOS, rest will be done by computer itself.
Hope this helps.
Good Luck
Recovery CD is saved as a recovery partition on the system, which needs to be written/burn onto the CD/DVD. Steps to create a recovery disc (Insert a blank DVD in the CD/DVD rom) - 1. Click Start
2. Select All Programs
3. Select Recovery Disc Creator.
Recovery Disk Creator
4. Within the Recovery Disc Creator select Create
If you dont have the above options, you need to call the tech support and ask for the recovery disc & it will be shipped to you.
I suggest a firmware update from Toshiba. If this does not help then your laser in the drive is no longer capable of this task. Also just thought about it but make sure the media that you are burning to is the same as the drive + or - R's
Your stereo is a genuine detect sensor , only genuine product can play, The combo burner product are could pirated , so your stereo are having genuine detection it connot play.
sciberteach:
Go in the BIOS, in the boot sequence make your DVD player as the 1st number device to boot from, restart your machine and do follow the article (you should know the admin password to go into the system drive): http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307545
Note: If you are too overwhelmed then your Product recovery DVD will give you your original OS and all settings back.
Good luck!
