I called Polaroid and they are going to send me a new control box. I hope this will fix the problem. Thanks for the help.

On another note, I would not recommend Polaroid for their TVs. The sound was crummy from the 1st day. I tried over and over to fix it, but didn't know this was another issue Polaroid had. The TV is 13 months old but rarely used as it is in my sons room who attends college out of state. I long for the days when TVs last 20 years like they did when I was a kid.

These sets are known for this. You need to contact poloroid and get them to cover it under warranty which I think they extended cause of all the problems (lawsuits) They should send you a whole new module which is pretty easy to swap out.

tried with other ac outlet doesn't work?. if still won't turn on, at this time you will need to remove the rear cover to gain access the internal part. since your tv doesn't have any power indicator, the first place to be checked will be the power supply board this is where the power connector cord is connected. now look for a blown fuse replaced with the same rating. but take note before you replaced the bad fuse you must need to have component testing in the power supply board which the cause of blown of the fuse. like shorted bridge diode, open resistance and defective mosfet or bad regulator ic.at this time you will need a device called digital tester to check weather the parts need replacement.hope this can help good luck.

Where is My Philips 32pfl3505d f7 LCD TV fuses

I assume you are referring to the ac fuse, it is located on the power supply board. Just follow the ac power cord and it should lead you to it. If your set doesn't have a built in power cord, the fuse will be next to the power cord connector.

Hello,

the problem of this unit is power related.

First, remove the unit's power cord from the wall, wait for about 30mins, then plug it back in. It may cool by then and might power on. If it doesn't power on, plug it into another outlet, to make sure there electricity entering into the unit.

If plugging into another power outlet doesn't power it on then the unit is most likely having a power problem.

When electric current comes from the power outlet into the cooker, it goes straight into the power supply board which then circulates the current into the unit. So if the cooker doesn't power on, the first thing is to make sure there is power entering into the machine.

So check the power cord, if it is a 3-pin plug, it must have a fuse in it. check the fuse if it is not blown. if fuse is intact, then power supply board should be checked.

If any machine or electronics device doesn't power on, it means its having a power problem. it might have worked fine in the past, but that's electronics for you. Power surge, irregular power supply, excess power supply, etc can affect the unit thereby not making it to power on.

This unit must have a power supply board in it where power enters from the mains. A capacitor, fuse, diode, etc may have been defective on the power board and maybe that's why its not making the unit turn on. There might also be some disconnection or something, inside the unit which is not making it to power on.

To actually find out what's wrong, you need to disassemble the unit with a screw driver and check what's wrong. You will be needing a meter and continuity tester in order to read the components on the power board, once you detect any bad component, you can make necessary replacement at any electronics accessories store withing our vicinity. This is the only way by which you can detect the problem.

Of course, testing the power board with a meter will require someone that has the ability. So it you can't, then you might be needing the help of a repairman or you can call a friend that has the ability to help you out.

I wish you the best of luck.

Best wishes.

Having trouble turning my Tv on,have to turn it on and off/plug and unplug for a while to get pic and sound. Can you help?

Good day!

The problem of your TV could be the power supply.

Please follow this steps on how to fix that problem
:

  1. Remove the back cover of your TV.
  2. Try to look at the power supply board (it usually directly connected to the power cord)
  3. Plug-in your TV and power it ON to perform a voltage data.
  4. Check the input voltage of the power supply. It should have 110vac or 220vac it depends the input voltage of your TV that comes on the outlet.Use multimeter tester (range in AC)
  5. If the input voltage of the power supply doesn't have a reading, the power cord is defective you need to replace it.
  6. If the input of the power supply have 110vac or 220vac.Please check the output voltage of the power supply using your multimeter tester (range in DC).Normally it should have 5vdc for the system board,12vdc for the audio system and 24vdc for the inverter board (back-light).Also look for the leak/bulged on the top capacitor. If any replace it with the same type, ratings and value.
  7. If the you have done all procedures above and you have found any defects and the output voltage are complete. The problem could be the the system board or main board of your TV.This is not for D.I.Y because the parts are surface mount and its very sensitive. If the problem is main board you have to replaced it,buy a new main board its available at the market.
  8. When the output voltage of the power supply doesn't have reading, please check the following
  • Fuse---look if it is busted
  • Power transistor----If it is shorted (range in diode test)
  • Resistor----If it is open or change value (range in ohms)
If you found any defective parts replaced it with the same type, ratings and value.

I hope this solution will be helpful.Thank you and good luck.

Good day!

This are the steps to find and fix that problem.

  1. Open the cover of your TV.
  2. Disconnect the input supply of system board or main board that comes from the power supply unit.
  3. Power ON the TV to check the voltage reading of disconnected connector to the input of system board by using voltmeter.
  4. Check the 5vdc and 12vdc by using voltmeter. If you got voltage reading of 5vdc and 12vdc,try to connect the input connector of the system board and check the voltage again. If no voltage when you connect it.There's a shorted parts on your system board.Replace the whole system board because its very difficult and expensive to repair it.
  5. When the input voltage of system board doesn't have 5vdc and 12vdc even disconnected on the board. The problem is on power supply.
Check the following:
  • Fuse-Check the fuse if busted.
  • Transistor and diode-Check the transistor and diode if shorted.
  • Resistor-Check the resistor if open/change value.
  • Capacitor-Check the capacitor if leak/bulge on top.
If you found the defective parts that mention above.Replace it with the same type and ratings.
NOTE:If the following parts are OK and the problem is still there. The power supply have major problem and its not for D.I.Y..

Thank you and good luck

No power coming out of the power supply. Most of capacitor were changed, but it didn't help.

Check your fuse on the power supply. If it is blown, change it with same value fuse and hope it doesn't blow again. If it does, or it wasn't to begin with, then you need to replace your power supply.

I have a LG 37lc2d and it suddenly turn off and wont come back on, the stand by lights doesnt turn on either. i was wondering if its just the power supply? or how can i troubleshoot this my self to see...

There is a fuse on the power supply close to where the A/C is connected to the board. If the fuse is blown, look at the board and see if there are any burned components and or swollen capacitors. If there are bad components, I would suggest getting a new board.
If the board looks OK, disconnect the connectors from the board but leave in the A/C connector (this way you can isolate the power supply board), replace the fuse, and power up the TV.
If the fuse pops after the power is applied to the unit, then the power supply is bad.
If the fuse is still good, then power off the TV, connect on the main board’s connections, and power up the TV.
If the fuse is still good, then power off the TV, connect the inverters, and power up the TV.
If the fuse blows now, then the inverters and or the panel are bad.
A working power supply will create 5vdc for the main board’s stand by source voltage. This can be found on the power supply at the main board’s connector and it is labeled in black text.
I hope this information helps you.
Good Luck.

Power supply squeal magna.26MF605W/17

You need a higher capcitor as far as voltage if you got a sag, A power supply making noise is not a verry good sign period and this is dcomming from a eletronics engineer! There is something wroung with the circuit. I would sugges changing out the power supply unit due to a possiable problem with the rails.
