Question about Dryers
I have an Amana Electric Dryer, Model Number LE4607W. When I went to open the light flickered. It stopped in the middle of the drying cycle, and when I turned it on (with the knob) it made a loud grinding noise. Now, when you push the knob down, it makes a humming noise, but the drum does not turn. You can turn the drum manually in one direction. Is the problem with the belt, or the motor?

Thermal fuse. If the dryer overheats, this device stops the flow of electricity to the heat source and/or the entire dryer. It is located on the blower housing and cannot be reset. The most common cause for overheating is a vent tube clogged with lint, a birds nest or other debris.
