It could be that you have damaged hardware. However there a few things you can try to help you determine the extent of the problem.
1.Try holding down the Fn button (laptops only) and the F5 to toggle the display settings.
2. Try attaching an external monitor (some TVs will work too) to see if your computer is able to display a signal on a different monitor other than you laptop's.
3. If you don't see anything on your monitor when you reboot then there is likely hardware damage that prevent the image from displaying on your screen....even if you goofed up your software settings you should be able to see bios information or boot information when you restart your computer.

This a common issue with the acer laptop, get the BIOS updated. Call the Acer technical support and they will send you the latest BIOS update.
