Need acr 7.3

Past versions of ACR (Adobe Camera RAW) can be downloaded from the Adobe website but why would you need it? All the camera RAW codecs are still available in the newer versions of ACR, they just add new ones as they come out.

Hello, files captured in (RAW) WR2 FORMAT CANNOT BE OPENED ON MY WINDOWS PC even with Photo Elements 8. Is here a fix or upgrade, can you help?

Ahh - I see! A new codec (coder / decoder) from Panasonic. You can get this RAW codec directly from Panasonic's Download Page - here.

Since this is new - a lot of editors don't yet support it. If you can't get it to work on your system, bug Panasonic to support more systems (not just Vista) and / or publish the codec specs. If they have already published, bug your editor developer (Adobe, Corel, etc.) to incorporate support for it.

Make sure you review the download page for limitations of the codec and OS support before trying to get it to work on a system that isn't supported. Also, feel free to call Panasonic Support for workarounds they may have for certain problems - after all, you're a paying customer!

I hope this helps & good luck! Please rate my reply, thank you.

I cannot download RAW files from Nikon D 5000 to my computer running Media center edition of Windows XP. I have misplaced the Installation CD.

You need the proper codec so Windows can recognize RAW files as photos. You can download the codec from Nikon's web site at
http://nikonimglib.com/nefcodec/

When I try to download my photos they are in RAW format and my windows vista does not recognise them so I am unable to download them. Any help much appreciated.

Install the software that came with your camera or go to their website and download the codec for their RAW format. If your camera is a Nikon, the codec is here >> Nikon codec. There are other codecs, but I'm not going to try to guess what kind of camera you purchased.

Sound doesn't work on Sony Vaio VGN-sz480

I'm confused. A Codec is used in an audio player like Media Player 11. If your computer has no sound when it comes on then you need a driver. I looked up your model and found a Realtek driver speciafically for your machine. You can download this at: http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-list.pl?mdl=VGNS460. If you need an Audio CODEC for your media player I would suggest downloading PowerDVD from download.com to insure that your system sound is working correctly then you can use the Microsoft CODEC installation package to determine the real missing CODEC.

Sometimes when i play videos in some webpages, the screen gets green but i still hearing the sound, and sometimes it just gets green and stop playing.

Sounds like you may need Codecs, you can download K Lite (aka Kaza lite codec pack) as it's freeware and can be found simply by searching "K lite codec" with your favorite search engine and download and install it and most if all of your videos formats should play fine.

Connecting my Rebel to my Laptop

I would highly recommend you to use a fast USB 2.0 compliant Compact Flash card reader to copy photos from your CF card to your PC. This is much faster than trying to copy the files from the camera, as your camera is USB 1.1 compliant (ie. very very slow).

However, if you wish to use your camera to copy files with Windows Vista, you must switch your 300D to operate in PTP (picture transfer protocol) mode instead of Normal one. (in the camera's screen, go to the last tab, and change the option: Communication from Normal to PTP). I am not sure though that the PTP mode will allow you to copy RAW images. You have to check it.

As for the RAW images, I suggest you download and install the Canon RAW codec from:

http://software.canon-europe.com/software/0026049.asp

This codec will allow you to open CRW files directly from the Windows Photo Gallery application. Perhaps if you install this codec first and then try to connect your camera in PTP mode with your PC, to succeed in what you want. Still though, I recommend you to buy a cheap USB 2.0 CF card reader, it will save you hundreds of hours of Camera to PC download time.

Hope this helps.
