Re: No sound from unit and everything is wired and hooked...

I fixed my problem was not the radio but a broken wire in drivers door grounding out when hitting a bump and causing no sound from the radio

Re: No sound from unit and everything is wired and hooked...

Try pressinf the reset button (small black/grey one) that you would need a pencil to do,

Also kenwoods have a cup built in the audio ic to disconect sould if wires are touching together, although you may have it wired right a blown speaker will cause this problem, if thid did happen you would have to press the reset button to get sound after the problem was fixed, if none of this helps, i would sugest relpacing the audio IC'

New dual marine stereo worked the day I hooked it up the following day I've got power but no sound Any possible solutions?

Make sure everything is properly connected.Try other speakers also check if there is a reset button at the back of the face plate. If it still has no sound it could be the output IC is blown .

There is no sound but everything seems to be working

Try moving the speaker -( ground) from the output of the stereo to the chassis ground - in other words, the speaker - from the wire harness needs to be connected to the chassis ground, making sure it is not connected to the harness - just the speaker. Just try 1 speaker to see if it works or not. If the unit lights up and all the functions seem to work properly but no matter what you cannot get sound out - including the test outlined here then you may possibly have an internal amp blown or another component on the circuit board of the stereo which could happen if the power / ground leads touched or were hooked up backwards. If it's new I'd take it back - if not ( or purchased used and no hope of getting your money back ) you may be able to take it to a stereo repair shop for repair.
Hope this helps and good luck!!!

KDC MP242 faceplate will not light. I have the unit run directly through the car vehicle battery for power. The CD player will accept and eject a disk, so I know the unit is getting power. However, I...

Im not sure if this is gonna fix your problem because im not exactly sure what you mean when you say you ran the player directly to the battery....but if the faceplate is not lighting up then it is possible that you may have not connected some of the wires properly. Some head units come with illumination wires which I believe are usually orange and that could fix the problem of the faceplate not lighting up....I hope that you are not actually running it straight to your under your hood, straight to your battery. I would imagine that you have purchased the proper wire harness and have matched the wires properly in the dash to the radio harness. If you do not have all of the wires hooked up and the harness plugged in to the radio and ready to go like your gonna put it in the dash to bolt it in then do that. Hook everything up properly with the wires and the harness so its like its ready to be bolted in and then test it...if the faceplate is still not lighting up then you may need to bring it somewhere to have it done professionally or if you are confident you are doing everything properly then it could be a faulty screen. I can add that I have installed many radios and had have lots that I have not needed a use of that orange illumination wire for.....its pretty straight forward just matching the colors and connecting them...but if you have never done it then you should probably take it somewhere, just not sure if you have ever done it before. Hope this was helpful to you.. :) Good Luck!

Jvc kd-sx750 head unit has power but puts out no sound

bro to me it sounds like your radioi is bad you got everything hooked up right to get sound from it maybe the ant. hooked up but you should still get sound thats why I say the amp in the unit is bad!
here a little help: red: ignition when the key is turned on
yellow or orange: all time 12v
black: ground
blue: amp turn on, or auto ant.

Car amplifier has been removed, it was obviously in the trunk hooked up to nine speakers, etc. I just bought the car and there is a pioneer cd player and a seperate cd/dvd player under the passenger side...

I will assume that none of those wires are marked, thus leaving you with the cumbersome task of tracing each wire to its place of origin and properly marking them.

I will also assume that you have a standard hardware configuration whereas the in-dash head unit serves as an input selector and pre-amp for your aux.CD/DVD unit.

A possible shortcut would be to first identify the two power leads( one is a constant 12+ volts & one is a switched 12+ volts that is a remote power lead from the head unit) and the ground that was ran to the missing amp, mark and separate those from the group. Then with a test speaker trial and error those remaining signal (speaker) wires with the in-dash CD player on and loaded so as to find that units signal outputs (there may be more then one pair) You will need to identify left and right output signal pairs by adjusting the head units L & R control and marking those wires accordingly. Next with a pair of signal leads with output, temporarily connect them to all of the other unidentified signal pairs as to determine its speaker and marking them accordingly. At this point you should be able to make your left and right speaker connections.

Note: it will be wise to have a DC voltage tester to check for the missing amp power leads and signal polarity especially if you plan to install a new amp.

I hope this sheds a little light on your problem.

Good luck

My auio just doesnt work.

This sounds as if the output amplifier has failed.
Professional repair is necessary.
To check the rest of the radio is functioning properly, use the low level outputs (RCA) to an amplifier.
If you have sound, the internal amplifier is blown.
The repair shop you take it to should be able to bench test it for a nominal fee that usually comes off the repair bill.

Thanks for using FiXya - A FiXya rating is appreciated!!

Subwoofer doesn't play through ipod, only radio and cd's

Hook up the remote wire from the head unit (grey w/ orange stripe) to the power antenna wire (blue) on the wiring harness adapter.

Pioneer head unit plays in accesory mode, but not when vehicle is fully started

he tapped into starter wire instead of accessory. Remove radio and verify the switched power (red) wire is properly hooked up to an accessory wire that stays on after vehicle is started.
I believe the wire is white/black behind the radio. Check with a voltmeter to be sure.
for the wire codes to that vehicle.
