I have the same problem I had the audio working after I installed it and I know the wiring is correct and the audio goes out and comes back on 15 to 20 minutes later and plays for 1 minute and goes out again and again. I am puzzeled please help. I will try the rest button tomorrow and also I don't believe the speakers are blown. I have a simple set up with only 2 speakers and no amps or subs.

I fixed my problem was not the radio but a broken wire in drivers door grounding out when hitting a bump and causing no sound from the radio

Try pressinf the reset button (small black/grey one) that you would need a pencil to do,

Also kenwoods have a cup built in the audio ic to disconect sould if wires are touching together, although you may have it wired right a blown speaker will cause this problem, if thid did happen you would have to press the reset button to get sound after the problem was fixed, if none of this helps, i would sugest relpacing the audio IC'

Hooked up new tv - no picture

You may need to adjust the output of your receiver to match the capabilities of your TV. Sounds like new TV does not support the current selection. I would connect a DVD player or other source to confirm that the TV is working properly as out of box duds do happen.

each speaker in your car runs the wiring thru an amp. So each spkear has its own amp for the bose system. You can not hook up a none bose radio If you do you will need to run new wires and replace all the speakers. Sorry.

Blue screen, little static and great sound

I can not be sure but it sounds like maybe a wire got pulled. Is that possible? Maybe the cable is either damaged or it is partly out of the jack. Check both ends, at the TV and the console.

KDC MP242 faceplate will not light. I have the unit run directly through the car vehicle battery for power. The CD player will accept and eject a disk, so I know the unit is getting power. However, I...

Im not sure if this is gonna fix your problem because im not exactly sure what you mean when you say you ran the player directly to the battery....but if the faceplate is not lighting up then it is possible that you may have not connected some of the wires properly. Some head units come with illumination wires which I believe are usually orange and that could fix the problem of the faceplate not lighting up....I hope that you are not actually running it straight to your battery..like under your hood, straight to your battery. I would imagine that you have purchased the proper wire harness and have matched the wires properly in the dash to the radio harness. If you do not have all of the wires hooked up and the harness plugged in to the radio and ready to go like your gonna put it in the dash to bolt it in then do that. Hook everything up properly with the wires and the harness so its like its ready to be bolted in and then test it...if the faceplate is still not lighting up then you may need to bring it somewhere to have it done professionally or if you are confident you are doing everything properly then it could be a faulty screen. I can add that I have installed many radios and had have lots that I have not needed a use of that orange illumination wire for.....its pretty straight forward just matching the colors and connecting them...but if you have never done it then you should probably take it somewhere, just not sure if you have ever done it before. Hope this was helpful to you.. :) Good Luck!

Once i hit a small bump in the road the screen goes blank and goes black. then i have to press reset button each time

Your unit shouldn't be that sensitive. Check the wire connections and make sure your not just losing contact from your power wire, if everything's good then you might a dud unit.

Wont play throught speakers only crakles everything hooked right maybe needs new wireing harness but everything works but sound

If everything is hooked up correctly, you may need to wire harness. It could be a bad capacitor in the audio outputs. Easy to try wire harness first. Sometimes turning off and back on again works.

no matter what brand it is the unit must have been hooked up power to ground to make a spark when turned on.
they dont have a fuse to protect them, but what may have happend is you could have shorted out a door switch.
be sure that you hae the wiring correct now and that your house fuse or breaker is on.
the wiring is very easy to hook up as black to black, white to white, and bare wire to ground.
i dont see how your husband could have done that wrong, but anything is possible.
recheck the power to the unit and just hope thats all thats wrong.
if you are sure power is good, then something in the unit has shorted out.
