Question about Emerson EWD2202 DVD Player/VCR

1 Answer

Channel Setup I have the unit hooked up to an antenna but when I go through the Automatic Setup, it keeps recognizing the input as Cable rather than Air. Is there a way to manually change the channel setup- I can't find anything like that in the Menu. I've tried the setup with no input as well and it still insists that it's getting a Cable signal.

It's saying that because the antenna is hooked into the same thing, the coaxle jack. It shouldn't memorize any chanells that don't come in on the antenna. It's been a long time since I had mine hooked to an antenna but I know it'll work if you let it go through the auto setup. If need be unplug the unit for like two minutes so it's memory is erased and then fo form there. I hope this helps

How do i hook up a 32 inch Sansui TV to an antenna

After you connect the antenna cable to the TV go into the setup mode and on the tuner line change it from cable to air. Then do an automatic channel search and you're done.

Antenna unrecognized.

Sometimes the TV will lock out other inputs when a cable is connected. Try the antenna by itself and put the TV in Channel scan mode. If this works reconnect the cable TV cable. If that doesn't work you may need an A/B switch

I just bought an LCD 1933A TV. I don't have cable so I connected an indoor antenna to it as instructed ( Radio Shack indoor amplified HDTV antenna 15-254). I turned the TV on and no matter what I did...

Few things,
  1. You will have to go into your menu settings and be sure to select "Air" instead of Cable for your antenna connection
  2. Then run auto scan channel setup to find all available channels in your area
  3. Once completed be sure you are on Input Source TV you should be able to select Channel up/down on the remote to select your channel to view

If you ever see No Signal you are probably on an AV input and not on your antenna input.

Can we record with our sanyo drw 500 and a digital tv? If so, how do we do this?

If cable/SAT box, hook-up that box video/sound output to DVD video/sound input. If no cable/SAT box, hook-up cable from wall into antenna/cable in on DVD and tune DVD to channel wished, and hook-up DVD TV antenna out to TV antenna in. If DVD has no antenna/cable in, TV must have video/sound output. Hook to DVD video/sound input. Hope this helps.

Off air antenna hook up

You probably have to set the tv to run on the input jacks your antenna is plugged in to. In other words these newer tv's have 2 or 3 inputs and they only run on the input it is set on, if not the right one you must change the setting. On mine there is a button next to the on/off button on the set which is inputs, keep pressing that button and it cycles through inputs till you get the right one. When tv first comes on it flashes the name of the current input on the screen--think they all do that. If input is hdmi, it refers to the hdmi socket, if composit (I think) then it refers to the rca jacks that are red, white, yellow, may be more than one of either. In this way you could have cable on one input, a video player on another, and cable on still another by switching desired input. I use a UHF antenna but it didn't work till I got the right input and then searched for stations studying the menu for station setup, have to set up the stations first, it will configure settings for each station, and have it do that before you can expect to find and receive stations. With correct input you should get a blue screen or something with printing if input is right, click your menu button and will see the menu and then find where to configure stations setup, otherwise it is totally black and nothing happens, nothing responds, that's the wrong input.

I have a jvc tv model av27530. Disconnected cable box b/c going

You probably have to find your original remote to the set and go through setup in your menu. On most sets, there will be a menu item which will allow you to switch from Cable mode to Air mode. If you have no Cable connected, then you must set tuner in Air mode.

If you are using an external device to run on channel three, then try this:
Make sure device (rather it's a vcr or game console), is hooked up to your Antenna Input connector. Also, some of these devices will have a small hidden switch on back that says 3 and 4. Move the switch to 3 position. Turn on device. Go into TV menu and do a Channel scan. This should auto program any device hooked up to the TV antenna input jack to channel three.

Keep in mind that you may not receive anything by Feburary of this year without an HD converter box to tune in channels with and outdoor antenna.

Cannot get local channels back after dropping cable.

Are you positive that your city has not done the Digital Conversion? Some Cities are doing it early before the February deadline. Also make sure you are tuning in to the correct channels. Meaning that if on your Cable Provider ABC was on Channel 3 that does not mean that ABC with still be on Channel 3 after you have your Cable turned off. Most of the Time the Local Stations Tag will let you know what channel its on. It will be something like "KWAS ABC 27" So on your TV you would Tune it to channel 27 to get ABC and the same fore NBC , FOX, CBS , etc...
I hope this helps Take Care =)

Toshiba Model: SD-V295 DVD/VCR Combo Setup for TV recording

The proper hookup is antenna or cable into the VCR RF/antenna input, then VCR RF/antenna output to the TV RF input. The hookup you describe means no signal is getting to the VCR.

With some TVs, there can be Video and audio output jacks which can be hooked to the video and audio jacks of the VCR. However this would likely mean you could only record the channel being watched, and, the TV would have to be on.
