it's saying that because the antenna is hooked into the same thing, the coaxle jack. It shouldn't memorize any chanells that don't come in on the antenna. It's been a long time since I had mine hooked to an antenna but I know it'll work if you let it go through the auto setup. If need be unplug the unit for like two minutes so it's memory is erased and then fo form there. I hope this helps
