One burner has no spark for ignition..

One of our burner has no spark for ignition..other four are working fine. I opened to look under the burner...wire connection area was dark...may be burned (or is it normal due to heat)....Should I replace the wire? how? where can I get it? Thanks for your help.

I have the similar problem as Yhamla. However, there is no evidence of burned area on wire connectors. I tried switching orifice 'spuds' asm 'tubes' & 'air-mixers', around to different burner positions, but the problom of NOT 'sparking' stays with the 'Gas Valve' which feeds the 'left rear' burner, regardless of which burner I run the asm tube to. This leads me to think that the 'Gas Valve' is the problem? I suppose I should actually remove/switch the asm tube from that gas valve to a different valve to confirm it?

If the problem is with the Gas Valve, is it difficult to replace the valve? The way to remove it doesn't look obvious. Does it unscrew or is it pressed on somehow? Any helo is appreciated! Thanks

The problem is that the wire is shorting out where the black area is, that's what is causing the black mark.

It is called a pizo lighter, you will only need the section that is faulty, depending on the make/model (some require you to buy the whole pizo assembly).

You can get them from most plumbing suppliers and you should be able to get them from the retail outlet you would purchase the unit from. In each case they will have to order it in.

This is a tricky installation, and will just do the same thing if not completed properly, so if you are not totally sure of the task, please ring a plumber.

One burner igniter fails to spark after getting wet

Each burner has its own switch to direct current to the igniter. It appears that one of the four switches burned or shorted out, while the other three survived the flood. These switches are replaceable, so that's how I'll fix the problem.

Constant sparking

I don't have a Thermador cooktop but here is ma taught.

Could you unplug the two faulty igniters and see if problem remained

Could you plug one of the faulty igniter at the location of a good one. The goal is to isolate the problem. Is it the igniter or the electronic board.

Faulty ground problem may occur also after an spillover on the stove. In that case, use a cotton swab dipped in scrubbing alcool and clean the spark area on the igniter and the burner.

Good luck

Burner on Thermador stove top does not light

Switch for burner 4 is not working properly - could have a bad contact resulting in just one spark and nothing more.

Viking Gas Burner issue?

is this a sealed burner unit? if so the burner base (the heavy brass part under the burner cap) has to be sitting just right. you will notice that it has holes around the the sides make sure that where your ignitor sparks to it that it aligns with the lowest hole on the burner base. if you have a great flame all around the burner after checking what i mentioned i would replace the spark module. if it continues to drive you crazy with the noise - just unplug it. the burners will continue working fine without power.

Thermador Gas Range - Griddle ignition will not spark

I have a Thermador Gas Range PG364GDBS - Oven, 4 burners, and center griddle. All are gas. The four burners and gas oven work fine. The griddle just stopped working, no spark. Turning on the griddle control, the gas valve opens(hear it), gas flows (smell it), but the ignitor will not spark (no loud or faint spark that I can hear). I got a replacement ignition device (mount at the burner) thinking it might be the problem, but still no spark. I checked the AC voltage at the terminal and measured 39 VAC between the terminal and ground. Not sure if that is the correct voltage. Any insights or advice would be great.

Ignition sparking on its own with GE mongram gas stove top.

the sparking is one of the switches under the knobs shorted you may be able to open the top and take a switch off 1 at a time and you can figure out what one is shorted.or you can just change all of them.
to stop this you may be able to just unplug the cooktop from under the top.if you unplug the cooktop you should be able to light the burners with a match.
