The "start scanning" button on the all-in-one does not actually start the scanning. The power light flashes but then goes solid.
An uninstall and reinstall of the software fixed the problem, but it has returned following a computer restart.
The Solution Center is configured correctly as far as I can see.

Scan the scan using the scanning software, the printer buttons are useless.
For example in paint shop pro go to file, acquire, TWAIN, get page. The HP Scan software will start and make a preview of the page. Then press scan to get the page on the editing program.
