i have a SONY laptop with Windows Vista Home Premium. I cannot upload my SONY camcorder tapes with USB2 and the laptop does not have an iLink port. Will this adapter allow me to upload my camcorder tape to the Vista Laptop? if so, how ?
-   My new HP G5010EM notebook although it has a number of USB2 interfaces has no IEEE1394 neither PCMCIA slots.
Need to transfer from my Sony camcorder that requires IEEE1394 to my notebook for editing. Searching Google revealed no USB2 to IEEE1394 dongles / adapters.
As USB2 is self powered and faster that IEEE1394 surely it can cope with conversion from one to the other!-   Guest
