hello there Start by pressing F4 when the BIOS "Samsung" screen is showing. This
will allow you to restore the original operating system from the
recovery partition, if is there. (Also try the other Fn keys - F6 and F8
may do something).
Otherwise you will need to beg, borrow or buy an XP Home installation CD
and use that for a new installation. You can use the Samsung key on the
bottom to activate it. You can get the R40 drivers from SamsungPC.
control panel admistrive tools, computer management, device manager scroll down cd/dvd drives you should see a yellow question mark? right click to reinstall drivers or right click select enable or properties then general to troubleshoot or region select 4 you might uninstall reboot then reinstall hope this helps
there is a screw & a button near the drive, first remove the screw, then push the button up (its like a lock), keeping push the level up while pulling out the drive.
just open cpu cover and remove cd rom from it replaced it with your cd rw then connect power cable and ide cable to motherbord and to cd rw. Thanks for using fixta. Please rate solution if it helps.
Any laptop cdrom, cd/rw, dvdrom, dvd/rw, or cd/rw-dvd combo will fit in you laptop. All you have to do is remove the mounting hardware from the old one, and place on the new one. They are pretty easy to remove from the laptop, as there is only one screw from the bottom that holds them in.
If it is a direct replacement drive, exact size as old drive, then all you need to do is remove the old cd drive and slide the new drive into the slot until the back plug engages. Install new drivers as needed and any software that came with new drive. Hope this helps.
