I can not seem to get my camera to activate- it just shows the MSI wind logo with a white background? do i need to download some drivers?

Try going to www.microsoft.com/downloads, or use Windows Update, or Microsoft Update.

1. if the problem happened recently try to do a system restore to go back previous to when the problem started.

2. check device manager, find if there's any ? or ! yellow marks next to what looks like your camera, open the properties of the device (if it's showing) and post back with the status info, , you may need to reinstall the driver or update it. post back with our model number

Have you tried pressing Fn and F6 at the same time? Pressing those two keys on the keyboard at the same time turns on the Webcam.

If you have done that, I would install the drivers for the webcam. Now I am assuming you are running Windows XP, and if so, visit this website:

Download the Webcam drivers about one-third of the way down the screen.

If after install and restart doesn't fix it, contact me and I can help further.

you can activate that msi wind u 100 webcam when it is being installed on your system. You will be needing a driver installation source in order to use the device. the reason why you need these drivers, its because it allows the device to be recognized by the operating system .

you can download drivers for free at the manufacturers website.. :)

Hello.

Your problem is not the drivers. The msi u100 webcam is supported by the operating system without the need for installing drivers for it.

Instead, turn it on by pressing and holding the Fn key (bottom left corner) and then pressing F6.

Try to press FN key together with F6 to makes the webcam works

have you tried :
1) Fn key ( Hold that down , it is located at the bottom left of your keyboard)
2) while holding that down hit f9 to turn it on

It gives you a confusing message when its not turned on and a lot of people think that its a driver issue :)
