Re: Focusing

This is ether focusing motor itself or CCD sensor is starting to malfunction. In either case it should go to a repair outfit. If I am right and it is a CCD sensor you can have it repaired ( sensor module replaced see enclosed pic ) FREE OF CHARGE BY SONY.7761b2a.jpg

How can i adjust settings for blurred pictures on Samsung ES15

That would depend on why the pictures are blurry.

If the pictures are blurred because of camera motion, you need to either use a faster shutter speed or place the camera on a tripod or other stable support.

If the pictures are blurred because the subject is moving, you need to use a faster shutter speed.

If the pictures are blurred because it's out of focus, you need to ensure that the camera is focusing on what you consider to be the subject, not what the camera chooses.

What do I need to do to make sure my pics are in focus on my Vivitar Vivicam 5024

The biggest thing is to make sure the macro switch is in the proper position. This is the switch on the end of the camera, near the SD card slot. If you're taking a picture of something close to the camera (about five feet or one-and-a-half meters, or closer), set it to the flower position. Otherwise set it to the mountain position. Other than that there's not much you can do to affect the focusing.

While not a focusing issue, also make sure you hold the camera steady. If you're getting blurry pictures it may not be a focus problem. Try setting the camera down on a table (or better yet, use a tripod) and take a shot. Then turn on the self-timer and take another shot (the self-timer gives the camera a chance to stop jiggling after you press the shutter release button). Look at the results to see if the blurring was caused by focus or camera motion.

I have a nikon 55-200mm lens for the D40X digital camera. The pictures I take are blurred. I use the auto settings. the 18-55mm lens works fine and there are no problems with the picture clarity. Is the...

One of a few things might be happening
1. Photos being taken at high zoom (i.e. 200mm) are susceptible to camera shake, even though the lens is focusing properly. The solution here is use a tripod, zoom out, or steady yourself.
2. Photos being taken without flash when flash should really be used will result in motion blur (which is slightly different than camera shake). This is due to the camera using a longer shutter speed to let more light in, with the side effect being that objects will move while the shutter is open, blurring the picture. The solution here is to use a flash, or take pictures in better light.
3. The camera may be focusing on something other than what you intended.
3. If you are taking photos in good light with a steady hand, and the camera is choosing the correct subject to focus on, then yes, the lens could need readjusted, though this is not a very likely scenario.
If the lens is "hunting" for focus, that could be a sign that something is amiss.
A local camera shop can verify the accuracy of focus for your lens.

Compact digital camera; zoom blur images. what am I doingwrong?

You may be doing nothing wrong, however the camera is either having trouble with the focusing circuitry/lens assembly, or you're not holding the camera still enough, with a solid focusing object (not likely, but happens). I suspect that some aspect of the focusing circuitry (while zoomed) isn't functioning. While that can be a microprocessor problem, it's rare and not likely. Most likely there is debris (dust, sand) in the lens assembly, and needs to be blown out with compressed air. If that doesn't work, you can try to zoom, then hold the camera with the lens facing up, and bump it gently with the palm of the hand, on an area without switches. The focusing ring inside the lens assembly is sometimes stuck, or jammed by debris, and can be freed by compressed air. Bumping the camera tries to reseat the focusing ring, so that it works correctly, from the cpu signals, and focusing detector. If these suggestions don't work, it will have to be serviced. Make sure you get an estimate first- the cost of repair often exceeds replacement cost of a new camera, on sale. Good luck!

Blurred subject in middle of photo

I own Rebel XT and Canon 50mm f1.8 MKII lens with plastic mount and noticed many pictures with missed focus, either front or back focusing. Meaning objects slight forward or below the intended subject is in focus. I've sent my body and the lens to Canon for evaluation and thet adjusted my focus sensors on the body. I still have problems and there are many threads related to focusing on this camera with 50mm f1.8 that the sensors on this camera do not do so well with fast lens and prone to missed focus.
Test your camera's focusing ability with a book or magazine where you focus on just one specific line and see if it is truly in focus when you review the picture.

Picture blurred

There can be several reasons for blurred pictures.
Are you taking the picture in enough light? Is auto focus turned on? If not, are you focusing correctly? What sort of camera are you shooting with?
