Question about KitchenAid KEBC277 Electric Double Oven

1 Answer

KEB5247 Kitchenaid built in electric double oven

After cleaning the upper oven I noticed (24hrs later) that the inner glass in the oven door was shattered. Can the glass be replaced? Or will a new door be required?
Thank you

It is a double wall oven, not single Does that make any difference?

The upper oven has the problem.

    Thanks dr.

Yes the inner door glass is a replaceable part and the door will have to be disasembled but not replaced. I can help with sourcing any parts for you since you used a premium post.

Ok based on the breakdown for your oven (single wall oven) It shows 4 glass layers in the door. The outer glass and then 2 inner glass panels they are part #4449251 and costs $50.20 from Marcone (appliance parts retailer) I believe that you need the glass panel closest to the inside of the oven it is part #4449247 and costs exactly the same. It can also be purchased at www3.sears.com just give them the part number i gave you. Thanks again.

The breakdown is confusing, it only shows one oven (at a time) but i double checked the model # and it right so my part#'s are correct.

Is it necessary to repace the entire inner door

You should be able to just replace the inner door glass. They are usually available as a seperate spare part.
Go to the manufactures web site, and if neccessery send an e-mail to them.

To dismantle the kitchenaid pro line oven door: there is a lever over the hinges that attach a door to the oven. The lever is right on top of the hinge. Pull the lever up. When that lever is in the up position, you can pull the door out.

Kitchenaid Oven

I believe the entire door must be removed first. then remove every screw that you can find and draw a picture where they came from. then split the door open like opening a clam. then you may find additional screws to remove the glass
