Question about HP 358937-001 - Compaq Armada 6500 Series Laptop Keyboard (358937001KB)
I spilled a little bit on my keyboard so I took the spacebar off to to clean under it. Now I can't get it on. How do I get it on????
Take the computer to a qualified technician, who can replace the keyboard, as the least-expensive "try" at trouble-shooting.
Since a keyboard transmits "codes" to the motherboard,
e.g., left-shift-has-been-pressed, and left-shift-has-been-released,
and the motherboard interprets those codes, it is NOT likely that
the motherboard is misinterpreting the codes, especially given that
the "bad' letters are in a straight line on your keyboard.
Find an external USB keyboard, and plug it in.
If it works correctly in the first 15 minutes, then the problem is NOT the motherboard.

Go to ebay and look for a keyboard that fits your model, usually $10.00 to $15.00 and the search HP website on how to change your keyboard, usually four screws and disconnect a ribbon cable..
