When i turn the unit on, it powers up and shows a snow screen for a fraction of a second and the green power light switches to red and the video output cuts out and the unit does nothing more. this happens time and time again, i've tried unplugging it and letting it power cycle, and it dosen't do anything....HELP!!!

I had the same issue on a LG 50PX5D, bought in 2006. I changed channels and the picture froze, audio was OK. Then after shutting off, when turning back on got exactly same symptoms. Repair guy says X and Y boards to be replaced. I expect to have it back in a week. PS happened after a power hit, it worked ok for a few hours then this.

Your unit is in protect mode a short circuit has occured either at x,y z board.Check fuses F52 on y Board,FS1,FS2 on Zboard.Remove P1,P2,P3,P4 if power supply voltage is normal replace right x-board.Remove P6,P7 if the power supply voltage is normal replace left x-board
