Question about Durabrand HT-3915 System

1 Answer

Output problem My system has been working flawlessly for quite some time, but suddenly it stopped working. Power comes on, but when I try to play something, the speakers make clicking sounds. Not sure how to fix this.

i recently bought my sys. and set it up on my home computer, worked well

the first month.then it started to make a clicking nose and the volume would change, now i get no sound out of the speakers at all. in looking into the problem i found that the audio in jack on the sub speaker was loose

inside the speaker box in turn the plug was not making a good connection.

i can move the plug around and i can get to work but i have to hold it in that position. this sub. is a sealed unit.guess i'll have to try to get the co. to replace it

Hey I've had my Logitech z506 speakers for a few

I don't know for certain but, this is usually a sign of the overload circuit in operation. Speakers are not designed to be used on full volume constantly. Next time this happens try and turn them off for a couple of minutes, when you turn them on again try with the volume lower than when you turned them off. If you are regularly using them at full volume, then maybe it is time to invest in a more powerful set. Buy them by their RMS power output, NOT by their PMPO (peak mean power output) this is already an inflated figure and is usually about 4 times the real power output. I hope this helps.

Try checking the output with another appliance, the shop vac may have over heated (for whatever reason). The generator, if it encounters one, has a fault light (if memory serves) that is illuminated if anything out of the ordinary is encountered.

Suddenly, amplifier stopped giving out sound. Controls and display seem to work fine. If it is blown fuse, where is it & how can i replace it?

Does it stop on both channels? It sounds to me like the safety circuit is activating. This usually happens when either the volume is too high, or the speaker load is too great (i.e. usually loads less than 4 ohms will do this) or, the amplifier has an internal short causing the amplifier's output stage to become un-balanced. Does the sound come out nice and clearly through both channels? How long does the receiver play before the sound stops? How loud are you playing the music when it stops like this? If the sound is reasonably clear through both channels at regular volume, then there is probably nothing at all wrong with the receiver's output circuits. If the amplifier is being played at regular volume or even lower volume for quite a while and then quits, perhaps the receiver is getting too hot and it's thermal sensors are activating the protection circuit. Make sure that when you operate the receiver, that there aren't things laying on top of it blocking the unit from venting and cooling properly. Make sure it has plenty of breathing room - amplifiers (most of them anyway) are inherently subject to producing heat. If the amplifier only quits when played at high volume, well then that's probably the problem - it's probably not meant to deliver such power that you're asking it to - especially if you're driving a heavy load such as 4 ohms or less. If you're running several speakers on this unit, try scaling back to just two speakers for now, and make sure these are 8 ohm speakers. Play the unit for a while and see how it does.

Soundmax Hd audio not working.

SOUND LIKE THE CHIP SET IS BAD.
overheat??? or a bad solder joint. but either way it is related to heat.

try a can of cold spray, spray very small area at a time when the sound die. once you id the area then you can nerrow down by spray in a even smaller area. till you fine the part..

good luck

I agree with your diagnosis. If one channel quit and the unit now ocassionally won't output at all then the amp is going into protect. Have it serviced.
