Question about LG 24 in. LDF 7811 Stainless Steel Built-in Dishwasher

LG Dishwasher model LDF7811 doesn't clean

Dishwasher doesn't clean the dishes. My gut feeling is there is no water pressure from the pump. The inside of the unit is developing mold. I now occasionally run the unit empty with bleach just to keep it clean. I have checked all the water pathways for dirt and there all clean.

    Have LG 5811 that quit working after 2 1/2 years. Cost $848.00.
    Repairman was paid $95 for diagnosis--burnt motor. Home Depot says the machine is past warranty. New motor cost $500! They quit selling this model.

LG DOES ****. We had this dishwasher and from the very beginning it didn't seem to dry and within a few months it was not cleaning as well as we had hoped. Within 9 months it had gotten so bad that we were really unhappy and then we got an error code. LG arranged for a local repair company to take a look at it. They ended up replacing EVERY part of the dishwasher except the tub itself. They replace the pump, the heater, the whole door assembly, the wiring harness (the wires had started melting into the sound proofing material), the electronics. Literally everything. From that point on we really noticed that we were getting food chunks on everything. Not only that, all the dishes were greasy and it wasn't even coming close to drying. There was mildew and mold growing inside the tub! Finally I got fed up and threw a fit with LG. They sent another repair guy out and he told us it was going to take 3 weeks to get a brand new pump and heater because the replaced heater had failed. After I complained to LG the repair guy got the parts in a week. He quickly replaced it and tested it and it flooded our kitchen (hardwood flooring) and leaked through the floor to the ceiling downstairs. The new heater was faulty. Not only that, the repair guy told us that the first repair, 9 months earlier, had not been completed and our turbulence detector had never been hooked up. Our solution? We fought with LG and Home Depot, where we got it, and LG offered to replace it with a new dishwasher. I said forget it, we didn't ever want an LG dishwasher again. Home Depot stepped up and took back our 2 year old dishwasher and refunded all our money. We bought a KitchenAid and we LOVE IT!

If the main pump failed it would generate an error code so it's more likely something has gotten down into the sump area. Try taking the screws out around the mess screen and sump area and open that area to look for something inside. Note: To remove the impeller it is a backwards thread.

Whirlpool Gold Dishwasher- bowls in center of top rack are full of water, bowls in corners have almost no or no water in them and dishes on top rack are dirty. Dishes on bottom rack are clean.
First try running a cycle of "Dishwasher Magic". You can find this at Walmart for around 5 bucks. This will clean and condition the inside of the dishwasher and the inside of the pump and motor.
If this doesnt help...and the plastic and/or metal components in the dishwasher seem to look and feel intact..this would lead me to believe there is an issue with the pump and motor. These are sold as 1 unit or as seperate units depending on the model. Changing it is simple if you know how to dissconnect and reconnect a dishwasher. Take into consideration the age of the unit, the cost of the part, and the cost of a total replacement.

You may need to clean out the filters that keep food from being pumped up to spray out of the sprayers. This will depend on your make and model as to how to do this. Clogged filters will reduce the amount of water being sprayed. Try opening the door mid cycle to see if there is a vigorous spraying action. If the water being sprayed is underwhelming, it may be clogged filters.

Use white vinegar in your machine to kill mold. It's not your fault the dishwasher isn't cleaning well. They took phosphates out of dish soaps in some selected states. See if you're one of them.

My dishwasher wont clean the dishes. The bottom rack gets kinda clean and the dishes on the top rack come out dirty and covered in film.
Check whether the top rack spray arm main hose sits firmly into the
machine. If there is a leak in this area water pressure may not develop.
Also check the water pump in the machine!

If your dishes or glassware appear with a white film or a white powdery residue or spotted following a complete wash cycle, adjusting the amount or type of detergent you?re using and adjusting your hot water heater?s water temperature may solve the problem. But before you do either of these, put a rinse additive (such as Jet-Dry) in the rinse dispenser to improve the sheeting action of the water.

Next, you?ll have to determine whether the film is removable or permanently etched. To do this, soak a glass in undiluted white vinegar for about 15 minutes. Or, wash the glass with warm water and concentrated dishwasher detergent or a high-phosphate detergent (such as Glass Magic).

If the film comes off, it is probably caused by hard water minerals, improper amounts of detergent, or unsuitable water temperature.

Permanent etching is often caused by a combination of soft water and excessive heat or detergent. If glassware is permanently etched, there isn?t anything you can do to make it clear again. But you can avoid future etching by taking these steps:

1) Be sure hot water entering the dishwasher is no hotter than 140 degrees F. Don?t use extra-hot settings such as ?Power Scrub,? and use the ?Energy Saver? dry cycle.

2) Adjust the detergent amount.

3) Don?t pre-rinse your dishes before loading them in the dishwasher. Food particles on the dishes actually help the detergent and drying agents clean better.

A common cause of poor washing results is improper loading?dishes that block or impede the spray arm(s) or prevent the soap dispenser from opening. On the other hand, if your dishwasher has chronic problems with good washing, the problem may not be your dishwasher. A good first step is vary the amount of dishwasher detergent you're using and try switching brands.

Other possibilities: Your home?s water pressure may be too low, your water may be too hard, or the water temperature may not be hot enough.

In order for your dishwasher to fill to the appropriate level, water pressure should be from 20?120 pounds per square inch. If you suspect that your water pressure may be low, turn off all faucets or other users of water (such as washing machines and sprinklers) and then put a half-gallon jug under the kitchen faucet. Turn on the hot water full-blast. If the jug doesn?t fill within 14 seconds, your water pressure may be too low for proper dishwasher operation. Call your city water utility to discuss your options, or avoid drawing water elsewhere in the house or yard during dishwasher cycles.

The right amount of detergent to use depends on how large your load of dishes is and how hard your water is. Hardness is measured in grains of minerals?the more grains per gallon you have, the more detergent you?ll need. If your water has 12 grains or more of hardness, fill both dishwasher soap cups completely with detergent. If that doesn?t work, consider installing a water softener. (For more information, see the article Water Softener Systems.

To check water temperature, hold a meat thermometer under the hot water faucet for two minutes; if it doesn?t register a minimum of 140 degrees F., turn up the temperature dial on your hot water heater. (However, if you have a newer dishwasher that heats the water internally, it isn?t necessary to turn up your hot water heater.)

If your dishwasher has worked fine in the past but suddenly your dishes aren?t clean after the dishwasher completes all cycles, listen to the spray arm(s) spinning inside during the wash cycle. If spinning poorly, wait for the machine to cool down, remove the spray arm(s) by unscrewing the hubcap(s), lifting the arm(s) off, and then cleaning out the spray holes in the spray arm(s) with a stiff piece of wire.

My dishes lately are not looking clean when washed. They look filmy and the silverware is streaky and looking as though there is still food on them.I am using the same products since the dishwasher was new...
Check the spray arms for any nozzle block. Check the inlet water for free flow to the machine. Check water pump inside the washer cabinet. If the pump is not developing pressure, this problem can occur. If possible for you clean it and reassemble.

Dishes are not coming clean as the rotoraries are not turning.
may be the pump is not developing enough pressure. Contact service center or check the pump if you can. If pump has capcitor run motor try checking the capacitor too.

It should be as close to 125 degree F to 140 degree F as possible. Now try using the temperature boost feature if your dishwasher is equipped with this cycle feature and check if this will help your wash ability issues.

Now check the Powder soap by making sure that you store your soap in a dry environment and it is not stale and clumping together. Possibly try a different detergent like a liquid or gel. Also, make sure the dishes are loaded properly, or dishwasher is not overloaded.

To check the proper filling dishwasher will fill with water up to and around the heating element. If water is more below the heating element, you may have low water pressure or a problem with the fill valve. Try & listen if it sounds like it is spraying the water around with enough pressure.

For low water pressure, try to clean the screen at the entrance of the fill valve, sometimes the fill valve can fail and not allow the proper water into the dishwasher and may need to be replaced. And, check the spray arm and pump cover for splits or leaks. Also make sure that the water is draining and is not accumulated in the dishwasher, if it is in dishwasher then check for clogged drain hoses and drain pump.

Low water fills are a very common trouble maker with today's dishwasher.
