How to install LAN Brother MFC-5840CN on Windows 7 when original CD only has XP driver. Windows Update list specifies MFC-5840CN USB, but machine has option for LAN - is the driver the right one?

You cannot use the full driver and software package now. BUT:
Printing is possible, scanning and FAX is not possible at the moment. You download the Vista driver (x32 or x64) from the official Brother site and install it with the Printer Wizard in Windows 7.

You need a special Windows 7 driver for your printer but this one is not gone for this moment.Check periodically on official Brother site.
