37mf321d Tv will not turn on. Will not operate with the remote. After unplugguing for 60 seconds (and plugging back in )  the tv screen will start to flash and the power button flashs but nothing happens. If I do this often enough the picture may come back. Right now I have been trying to get it back on for three days. no luck.

Re: 37mf321d

I had the same problem with a TV of the same model given to me .The local TV shop had said it wasn't worth fixing. I found a 2200Uf capacitor on the power supply board blown up.I replaced it and the TV works great,it was C2074,I replaced it with a 2200Uf cap at 35 volts, had a 2200Uf at 25 volts in it.I hope this is your problem also.

When I turn on my Sony TV, ti stays on about 30 seconds then shuts off, What do you think is wrong?

Do a Power Reset.
1. Turn off TV.
2. Unplug the power cord of the TV from the electrical outlet.
3. Let the TV remain without power for 60 seconds.
4. Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet. (If the television is plugged into a power strip or surge protector, remove it from the power strip or surge protector and plug it directly into the wall outlet. If the issue is resolved, the problem is with the power strip or surge protector and not the television.)
5. Turn on the TV.
If issue persists after doing the steps, reset the TV to factory default settings.
1. Turn on the TV.
2. Using the supplied remote, press and hold the UP arrow button.
3. While holding the UP arrow button press the POWER button on the TV itself.
4. When the TV goes off, release the POWER and UP arrow button.
5. The TV will turn on by itself and the initial setup screen will be displayed. Just follow the on-screen prompts to finish the setup.

Why won't it start?

Try to unplug tv for a minute then plug a reset . Then push power button on tv. If TV comes on, then it's a bad remote .
If it is still not coming on, then there might be a problem on the power supply board. There is another post like yours with the same kind of answer.

My 39 inch tcl led TV power cord got abrubtly unplugged while watching TV. Plugged it back in and now the TCL logo on the start up screen stays there frozen. Many times already tried to unplug it, wai

Unplug the tv and hold the on/off switch on the tv (not remote) for 30 seconds. This should clear any power left in your electronic boards. Then plug it back in and try again.

Power Surge

charlie the proble has something to do with the tv guide here is a response from an older post Un plug the power to the Plasma Screen and also to the Media Receiver for ten minutes. Disconnect the off the air antennas both A and B. After ten minutes plug in the plasma screen then the media receiver and turn on wi the remote control. You should now be back in operation. I was. Also It may not be a bad digital tuner. The TV Guide feature is active even when the zip code is set to all 0s so if you have an over the air antenna attached the TV will look for the TV Guide info and if it can not find it because of a weak signal or the chanel it is tuned to does not carry that information the TV thinks that tuner does not work which triggers the 12 flashes. Also on power up the gray box with the waring message "Plasma Display Starting Up, Please Wait" appears and the screen is blank.

The only way that I know of to eliminate this problem is to buy a new TV. My ILO TV has been repaired twice since May 08 and it went out again for the third time. The problem starts out as an intermittent problem.... You turn the TV on, the audio is fine but there's no picture, you will be unable to change the channel or volume whether you're using the remote control or the buttons on the TV.
This TV should have been recalled. Don't reward the manufacturer and retailer for their bad behavior, buy your next TV from a different retailer.
