Question about Panasonic DVD-RV26 DVD Player

1 Answer

HO2 error The player wouldn't play at all. The H02 error kept coming up. I took the top off and turned the white and black wheels back and forth like someone suggested. It runs now but hesitates every few seconds.

Re: HO2 error

That's the spindle motor and it has to be replaced to solve the problem.

Problem playing dvd with panasonic sa-pt660 keep getting an H02 error message?

Thousands of annoyed customers of Panasonic, Yamaha, and Denon DVD Player owners have encountered the infamous H02 / H07 /H03 erors and many others on thier players or maybe the "No disk" error even though a disk is in the drive. Well many people have spent hundreds on repair or bought a new unit. But i am here to tell you that it is okay to open up your dvd player and mess around in side. If your DVD player comes up with one of these errors the first thing you might want to try is to open up your DVD player by removing the screws on the side and the back (depending on the model), then plug the dvd player into power outlet with cover removed. Stick a disk in and press play and give the disk a little push. Most of the time the Spindle motor is dieing out when you get a H02 error. In this case that little push may get your spindle motor to rev back up back into action. And if your as succesful as me then hopefully you have just fixed your H02 error for free without doing much work. I just got a Panasonic HT95 Reciever/DVD player to play all disks again by giving the motor a little "kick start"

Dvd will not play. H02 appears. Have reset to no

H02 is a fault code, though I don't know what. It code be either an electrical fault or mechanical problem. A mechanical fault might be easy to spot so take off the top cover and see if anything is broken, otherwise I suggest a service manual will come in handy.

The HO2 message means the disc is not spinning,it's not about the lens
or the laser.It is easy to take the lid off.Once you do that,plug it in,open the tray with the remote,put in a DVD,close the tray and then give the white plastic wheel on the top a gentle little nudge to get the disc spinning.

Error code HO2 appears after inserting dvd panosonic NV-VP30EB

To my knowledge, most H02 errors on a Panasonic DVD player would indicate a spindle error, that is the central motor that spins the disc. Normally, this would require an in-shop repair as electronics is involved, however, you could still try:
  • close the tray with no disc inside;
  • press on the back skip, pause, and play buttons simultaneously and hold for about 4 seconds;
  • when the screen blanks and then "initializing" appears, release the buttons.
Alternately, you can try:
  • remove the top cover;
  • clean the spindle motor with compressed air;
  • manually turn the spindle counter clockwise and then clockwise numerous times to exercise the motor;
  • power on the player, insert a disc and manually assist the disc to start turning.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

HO2 error code at screen

In line with the other Panansonic DVD players, the error seems to relate to the internal drive machanism getting stuck.

To fix you just need to carefully take the back off (disconnect power source first!), locate the drive cogs for the lens machanism and give the a couple of turns. Also a blast from a air can will help get rid of any dust build up. Pop the back cover back on and you should be working.

Looking at the other Panasonic threads on the site, this may happen on a regular basis especially as the unit gets older (and the crud builds up).

HO2 Error???

The problem with your unit is the "Spindle Motor", this motor is the one that spins the disc so the laser can read it. I sugest you to take your player to a shop, or back for service if the unit still under manufacturer warranty.

Panasonic DVD-RP56 Error H02

I read about removing the cover and spinning the motor by hand. It was suggested without power. I found that I had to have the unit powered up when I hand-spun the motor, then everything worked perfectly... we'll see for how long.

DVD not playing message say H02

There is a solution but it takes a little care because the wrong thing touched will give you a shock. Just stay away from the unit near where the power lead enters the unit. OK. remove the top of the unit, place a disk in the unit press play and gently give the DVD a gentle push in a clockwise direction. This disk should then get up to speed and start playing. It also unlocks the error. No guarantees with this one some work, some don't. I hope yours does. BMW

Error Message H02

I have had this problem on numerous times. Once while in warranty. Discussed with technician and he reported that the gears get dirty and stick and need cleaning. Since last year, I get this message every 3-4 months. I take out all the screws from the bottom, open the cast carefully, and use some canned air, clear all the gears, gently rotate all of them. Put everything back together and should work fine.
