Hi,

Upgrade the firmware on the router using the below steps:

A. Open the router page using the following way:

1. Connect a computer to the router using any one of the 4 available ports.
2. Open the browser (Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox or Safari).
3. Access the router usually by typing 'http://192.168.1.1' or 'http://www.routerlogin.com' in the address bar.
4. Login to the router with the Username as "admin" and Password as "password" (please note that the Username and Password are case sensitive).

B. Visit the following link to download the latest firmware.

http://kb.netgear.com/app/products/family/a_id/1299

C. Please follow the steps to upload the firmware of the router:
1. Open the router page using the steps mentioned above.
2. Under Maintenance, click router Upgrade.
3. Click Browse and locate the upgrade file.
4. Click Upload.
5. Wait for the router to reboot.
6. Click on 'Logout' (at the bottom of the list) from left menu.

Hi,
I like to tell you that this is not the right steps to connect another wireless computer on the network. When ever you tried to connect wirelessly simply you can see your network name which is broadcasted by your router. But as per your concern if you are facing this problem in that case there are two reson for that.

1. There is an software problem on your router which can be repaired through firmware upgrade or you can reload it.

2. There is an hardware problem with the device in that case you required to reset the router by pressing the reset but for 40 Seconds.

After resetting the router make sure you required to reconfigure each and everything once again. But after reconfiguring your netgear router and still you are facing the same issue in that case there is an hardware problem on the router and you required to replace or purchase a new router. If you have purchase your router with in 1 year you can call customer service for netgear and get a replacement from netgear or it is also depend on the warranty for the product.

I believe that will help you to sort out your problem

Thanks & Regards
