Re: magnets in the wall

You can purchase magnetic shielding material. Here is one place to purchase:

You could use the material to shield the speaker itself if accessible.

Good Luck!

Magnet can affect color of your screen you need to relocate either your tv or the speaker. you can also remove the pink tinge in the upper corner of your tv by USING A MAGNET, how? by putting this magnet to the affected area then drag going out of your casing. prior from this you need to relocate your tv or the speaker to solve tour problem

The corners of the picture on my Sansui screen have turned pink

That called ghosting or magnetic interference on CRT .
To eliminate ghosting, the easiest step is to keep the TV from equipment that has a large magnet. For example: speakers, electric motors and all that is magnetized.
Or you can also turn off the TV for 10-20 minutes to cool the PTC on the TV.
If it remains, try to move the location of the TV to other place.

i hope it will help you.

Magnetized The set is probably magnetized and needs degaussing (demagnetizing).
All CRT type TV's have an internal demagnetizing circuit that is engaged when the set is first turned on after being off for the day.
If this circuit is working then you sometimes hear a "bonk" sound (about 1/2 a second long when the set is first turned on. If this circuit isn't working the set will become magnetized over time and will have to be degaussed using a degauss coil available at a TV repair shop (cost aprox. $35.00) and you should have the circuit checked at the same time. A set will also become magnetized if a large speaker (magnet) or motor is close to the TV.

hello.... do you have any speakers near your television? what color is the circle your talking about? Do the green, pink colors are scattered all over the screen and specially on the corners?
If you have or had speakers near your tv? then do this try to get a magnet.a magnet on a speaker would do.what you have to do is to place the magnet near the screen of the tv approx. above the green, pink color (turn it on first).you will notice the that the color will react with the magnet try to pull it on the side you will notice that the green, pink color is moving on the same direction do it until its gone.NOTE make sure youll not scratch the screen me what happened. GOODLUCK

Color distortion

Move any speakers or electrical devices away from the set. It could also be anything electronic or magnetic. Anything near the set that generates a magnetic or electromagnetic field could be causing the distortion.

If still there, maybe tv need work on degaussing area.

Toshioba TV colour not sharp

Hi there!
There might be a problem on the degausing circuit. This demagnetises the screen every time you switch on. You may also have had a rise in the mains voltage thus magnetising the tube. Perhaps you can try switching off the TV at the wall for 24 hours or over night. If this does not work a repairer will have to remove it manually or repair the degausing circuit. Also make sure that there are no speakers or any magnetic items close to the TV. Good luck,JUS004

Color "burn" in corner

well i think this is caused by a magnetic field created by your speaker. is the speaker the same location for that color burn (lower left corner)? the only way to get rid of that is to remove your speaker or changed it. for all i know speakers used in tv's are magnetically shielded to prevent distortion in the CRT, because their location is usually near the crt. good luck!
