Question about LG enV VX9900 Cellular Phone

1 Answer

Front screen I have an army green enV and the front screen suddenly went 1/2 normal and the other half appears smeared, color is still there it just looks like it just trails off and is unreadable.  I've pulled the battery and let it sit, but no change.  Before this it was saying it was locking but really wasn't.  So I wonder if ithis is a software issue?  Of course, I don't have insurance on the phone and I am past the 15 days return rate. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I have a similar problem. It is intermittant... Sometimes i will open up my green enV and the inside screen will be about 3/4 pixelated garble and the last 1/4 will be 2 copies of part of the original screen... as in the top half of the last 1/4 will be part of the regular screen just scaled down and the bottom half of the last 1/4 will be the exact same thing.

As long as your phone is not showing liquid damage, Verizon will replace your phone for free.

You can either stop by a corporate verizon store with a tech department, or you can call customer service and talk to a technical representative in the warranty department. They will ship you a phone with 2day shipping. Once you receive your phone, you can activate it at the store, online, or over the phone. You keep your old battery on your new replacement phone, and mail your broken phone back in the box with the prepaid shipping label included.

The liquid damage indicator is on the back of your phone near the bottom, where the metal ports are. It should have a checked pattern on it, rather than being smudged or an entirely pinkish color.

Cracked Iphone 4 screen with distorted messed up colors.

Hi Connor,
Since the iphone is dropped from 4 feet, there would have been a physical damage to the display. If the phone is still under warranty or Apple care protection, you could take the iphone to Verizon store and replace the internal display. If the iphone is out of warranty, they might charge you for replacing the display for the phone. :-)

My screen has little dots appearing sometimes red sometimes blues behind the picture i just replaced the lamp bulb as i thought it would cure the problem

the projection tube needs to be adjust for color alignment, each tube (red, green, blue) must be aligned so you there would be no color smear appear on screen. if it is aligned try to set up the color balance, hue etc.

These sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the picture to look normal. When its out of alignment the video will look 3-D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired.

Convergence problems are very common on all Projection TV sets including Sony,Samsung, JVC, Philip Magnavox, Panasonic, Akai, Pioneer, Hitachi, Zenith, and others. You can get a convergenece repair kit wiith instructions from the links below.

Here are some of the most common problems with these sets...

Problem #1) Convergence

Yours may have one or more of the following symptoms
  • Screen Looks 3-D
  • Colors wont align
  • Screen may look distorted or warped
  • No Audio/Video - makes a chirping sound.
Problem #2

Another common problem is dull or washed out video.

Horizontal color line across the screen

Most likely a bad Vertical IC or bad connections on the vertical IC. don't continue trying it on. If you have a bad connection it could do more damage. You also could damage the CRT ( picture tube ). If you remove the cover and look at the bottom side of the PC bord with a good magnifiing glass you may see what looks like rings around the leads comming from the Vertical IC. The Vertical IC is mounted on a heat sink usually towards the front of the set looking from back. If you do see the rings around the leads try reheating with a solder iron. If this dosen't fix you most likely need a new IC.

Bad picture

Try to consider the following tips:

Smearing out of one or several colors, best seen in txt-mode, my 27CE4599/30R smeared out in red and green, not in blue, fully exchanging the drivers (input and output complete, otherwise the RGB driver will blank the crt) moved the fault to the other color
Replace the 180K feedback resistors in the amplifiers with normal 1/4W metal film instead of 1/8W, they can become open circuited (in mine both green and red were faulty in this way). Change all 3 and not just the defective ones, replace also all the paralleled 75K resistors per color (fe by 47K+27K) to prevent bright color raster (they can also become open circuit)
