Code 3 - pressure switch stuck open. What do I do to fix?
Where vent motor is there is usually a hose coming off which oressurizes when vent motor comes on, take hose loose **** or blow in it, take tooth pick and stick in all ports where hose connects (could be clogged) when sucking on hose you shoul hear pressure switch click each time you pull a vacumme, if fan has switch on back of fan as some Goodmans have the vent motor may need to be replaced.
SOURCE: getting 3 blinks on error code LED, checked
i take it the flash code 3 blinks refers you to the pressure switch...see the schematic. If this is what you are saying than lets move on... the voltage across the pressure switch should read 0 if the furnace is running and calling for heat. you dont need to check each wire to ground but across the two quick connect tabs. you will either read 0 or 24 volts (or there about). if you read 0 the switch is closed and functioning as designed. if it reads 24 volts it is open and there is not enough negitive pressure to close it. this can be due to a leak in the rubber tubing or a clog in the pressure switch, tubing, or induced fan housing connection nipple. the flue pipe may also be clogged or an improper cap is used at the termination. last is the wiring could be faulty going to and from the pressure switch. Hardly ever have we found a broken or faulty switch but it could happen. trust the board in most cases.
SOURCE: pressure switch stuck open
Hi, yes you can. The pressure switch is just stuck open causing the unit not to fire up. Find the small inducer motor that should be running, if its not and you have the panel off, you have a switch for the panel to kill the power when you take it off. You will have to tape it down with duct tape to restore power. You will see a clear plastic air tube coming from the motor and goes to this pressure switch. Pressure from the motor is what opens and closes the switch. Unplug it at the motor and blow through it several times. You will hear it click. Do this back and forth and it will break it loose. This will solve the problem. Kill power to reset unit. Start it up and your done. If it continues to do this, get a new pressure switch at a appliance parts house. Let me know the out come and please be kind when you rate me as I know you will. Good Luck,

EACH OF THE FOLLOWING STATUS CODES IS A TWO DIGIT NUMBER WITH THE FIRST DIGIT DETERMINED BY THE
NUMBER OF SHORT FLASHES AND THE SECOND DIGIT BY THE NUMBER OF LONG FLASHES.
43 LOW-HEAT PRESSURE SWITCH OPEN WHILE MEDIUM-HEAT PRESSURE SWITCH IS CLOSED - Check for:
- Low inlet gas pressure (if LGPS used).
- Plugged condensate drain.
- Improper pressure switch wiring.
- Water in vent piping, possible sagging pipe.
- Stuck open low-heat pressure switch.
- Disconnected or obstructed pressure tubing.
