This is the second rival liner that has cracked

This is the second rival liner that has cracked for me. They both cracked around the bottom curve. Could this be from adding frozen cut of meat?
I lost another one with a hinged top when the plastic handle became loose and even my husband who can fix anything was stuck. Anyone have any ideas? I mix and match pieces as best I can, still frustrated when my old crock-pot lasted yrs and now 6 mo is a long life for them.
