Question about Washing Machines

1 Answer

Washing machine leaks from bottom

As soon as I turn on the machine, water will start leaking out from the bottom, maybe center left. I am not overloading and it is level. Something on the bottom may have been damaged while my friend was putting it on the truck.

Any help would be appreciated.

Re: washing machine leaks from bottom

Open up behind after pluging off the wall. Check the hose that comes from under the tub, likely it is damaged or slipped out. Refit or change if damaged. You need a good pair of pliers; dont forget to insert the grip clips well.

Top loading washer leaking water during spin cycle

a few things could be causing this
(1) a hole has rusted thru your outer drum or maybe a dispenser line has come off inside
(2) some left over from a past wash cycle has gotten into the seal in the center agitator bearing and made it leak
(3) the dishcharge water pump has a leak in it

all these things can be routed out with just a strong flashlite and a little time to watch where water runs from during a cycle

I have a HotPoint washing machine, and it is leaking water bad. It leaks whenever the spin cycle starts, and the washing machine shakes pretty bad in that cycle. It's my ex girlfriends washing

The leaking could be coming from the exit port on the washing machine. Check the hoses leading from the washer to the drainage port in the wall. As for the shaking, check that the level adjustments at the bottom of the machine are level.

Leaking below washer

Sounds like you have a leak from the tub. Either the seal in the bottom of the tub or a hole in the tub.
When you run it again try feeling around the bottom center of the tub for water or try to see if water is leaking any where out of tub. Clear water would be from the supply line , soapy water would be from tub or a hose coming out of tub.

Washer leaks from bottom as soon as it starts filling with water

There are 2 green clips between the top of the unit and the front panel. (you can use a flash light to find them easier). Push on the with a putty knife or small flat head screw driver while lifting on the top. Once the top is open, you will find 2 5/16 screws that hold the front panel on at the top on the right and left hand sides. Once these are removed, you can tilt the front panel forward and see where the water is leaking from.
